Harlan Coben's next Netflix show just got one major step closer

While I Will Find You continues to dominate the Netflix Top 10 this summer, well on its way to becoming one of the most popular Netflix shows of all time, the next Coben shows are already in the works. With production already underway on the English remake of The Woods, which is expected to release in early 2027, there's another stepping up to the plate.

Just as I Will Find You was burning up our watch lists, Netflix formally ordered and got to serious work on Myron Bolitar, a new show based on Coben's longest-running series of books. After announcing Colin Woodell, KJ Apa, and Diane Guerrero as the show's three leading characters, Netflix revealed another exciting update about the show: Cameras have officially started rolling!

Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar now filming

On Monday, July 27, Netflix announced that Myron Bolitar started production in New York and shared photos of Coben with co-showrunner and executive producer David E. Kelley and cast members Woodell, Apa, and Guerrero. The cast weren't in character in the photos as they were taken at the show's first table read, so we still don't have a tease or first-look just yet.

Myron Bolitar marks something of a departure from what most viewers expect from Harlan Coben shows on Netflix, which is gripping and mysterious limited series. Rather than being envisioned as a miniseries, this will be Coben's first show on Netflix to be made with the intention of possibly continuing with additional season. Given has track record for success, that should be hard to attain.

However, there will likely still be plenty of mystery to unravel in the world of sports agent Myron Bolitar, who will be played by Pulse star Colin Woodell. A former athlete, he's now taking a behind the scenes position in the world of sports that's seemingly much more dangerous and "dirty" as anyone might have expected. As the official logline teases:

"After an injury ends his NBA dreams, Myron Bolitar reinvents himself as a sports agent — using charm, smarts, and a ruthless partner to navigate the high-stakes and dirty world of sports, where saving his clients often means risking himself."

Apa stars as Win Lockwood, Myron's close friend who left behind his familial privilege to work at his sports agency, and Guerrero plays Esperanza Diaz, Myron's right hand at the agency. The main cast of the series also includes Chloe Fineman, Jabari Banks, Ra’Mya Latiah Aikens, and Jamie McShane. The OC and Gotham star Ben McKenzie has a major recurring guest star role.

Beyond the main cast, Myron Bolitar has tapped a long list of a familiar faces in recurring roles: Isaiah Hill, Amanda Warren, Quincy Isaiah, Bebe Neuwirth, Griffin Dunne, Melissa Benoist, Charlie Tahan, Jamie Hector, and Sandrine Holt. Some of the stars are playing clients or people connected to Myron, like Dunne as his father, and others are the law enforcement the team will run into.

Needless to say, Myron Bolitar might be something a little bit different compared to I Will Find You or the forthcoming The Woods, but Coben's next series sounds intriguing and actually fun, especially with the talented cast that's on board. Even though we will have to wait until next year to meet Myron and his team, the series just took one major step closer to our watch lists.
