2025 started off great with three new Harlan Coben Netflix series adaptations. The year opened with Missing You in January, continued with Just One Look in early March, and closed out the month with Caught at the end of March. Since then, we've had to patiently wait for new information on Coben's upcoming Netflix shows.

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that we'll be seeing another series from him on Netflix this year. However, Run Away was just recently confirmed for a Jan. 1, 2026, release on the platform. I Will Find You is also slated for a 2026 debut. It might seem like we're about to face a bit of a drought, but fans can rest easy knowing that Coben's storytelling continues beyond Netflix.

His newest mystery, while not on Netflix, is just as thrilling and unmissable. And guess what? It's not based on any of his books! If you weren't aware, all of Coben's previous Netflix shows were based on his bestselling novels. Well, except Safe. That show was an original story created by Coben specifically for television. Now, he has a brand-new, mind-bending thriller series on Prime Video that we want to put on your radar. It's called Lazarus, and it'll definitely hold you over until the next Netflix adaptation drops!

Harlan Coben's Lazarus is the one show you need to watch now

From the very first episode of Lazarus, you'll instantly know that this is Coben's work. The creative genius is known for crafting stories that are equal parts suspenseful, twisty, and utterly addictive, and this series is no exception. Lazarus's story starts off one way, lulling you into thinking you know the path it will take, only to suddenly flip everything on its head in ways you never saw coming.

You might think you've got the mystery all figured out, but you'll be proven spectacularly wrong. And we're talking, again and again. You'll be kept guessing at every turn, your theories crumbling just as you start to feel confident. But there's a payoff, and man is it worth it! Every twist, every shocking revelation, and every secret finally revealed comes together in a way that’s both satisfying and mind-blowing.

I'm still stuck on that last big reveal right at the end of the six-episode series. Without spoiling anything, this major reveal will make you think back over every single episode, reexamining every conversation, glance, and subtle clue in a whole new light. That's exactly what a good thriller should do! But it shouldn't be a surprise that Lazarus delivers on this level. After all, it's Harlan Coben, aka the master of twists and suspense.

Coben co-created Lazarus with his long-time collaborator Danny Brocklehurst. The story revolves around forensic psychiatrist Joel “Laz” Lazarus, who returns to his hometown following the mysterious suicide of his father, Dr. Jonathan Lazarus. But shortly after his arrival, things go from unsettling to downright chilling. Laz begins experiencing strange and unexplainable visions, all while trying to grapple with his father's recent death and his sister’s decades-old unsolved murder.

Sam Claflin stars as Laz, while Bill Nighy takes on the role of Dr. Lazarus. The cast also includes Alexandra Roach, Ewan Horrocks, David Fynn, Karla Crome, Kate Ashfield, Curtis Tennant, Lloyd Lai, and Roisin Gallagher.

Unfortunately, Lazarus is a miniseries. This means there won’t be multiple seasons to dive into. The story is self-contained, wrapped up in just six episodes. However, it's really easy to binge, and you might find yourself watching all six episodes in a single sitting. That's what I did, and I was completely hooked from beginning to end!
