No thanks.

Poor Megan Markle. She does not seem like a bad person, but many do believe she is out of touch. She is also stuck in the middle between being an American-born part of the British royal family and someone who was once a celebrity and wants to maintain that in some way.

The last part is a safe assumption, of course. She might be very happy being married to Prince Harry and working with Netflix, but one obviously wants to remain in the spotlight if they are hosting their own series.

Markle's With Love, Meghan dropped in March, and was met with inglorious critical reviews and underwhelming viewing numbers. Some saw her as trying too hard to look normal when there is no way, being part of the royal family, whether she and Harry want to be or not, she will never be one of us.

Dolly Parton's people were "livid" over Meghan Markle's request

Plus, the series was about a homemaker who would talk to her close friends and share cooking recipes. The issue is that Markle never cooked, and the friends list includes A-listers, such as Mindy Kaling and others. There was nothing common about any of it.

This is where Dolly Parton comes in. According to celebrity commentator Kinsey Schofield on a recent appearance on The Nerve with Maureen Callahan podcast, Parton was asked to be on Markle's show, but Parton's people said no.

Moreover, Schofield said Parton's team was "livid" to be asked.

That's weird, right? Maybe Schofield does not know what "livid" means. She is basically saying that Parton's people were full of rage by even being asked to be on Markle's series. That seems illogical. Saying no makes sense, but being forced to extreme anger just by the asking would be odd.

Schofield added, "Because no, they don’t want to risk Dolly’s reputation Q score (and) her popularity by associating with Meghan Markle."

That makes it sound like Markle has committed some kind of crime or has a terrible infectious disease. She doesn't. Maybe there is no connection between Dolly and Meghan and Parton appearing on the show makes Markle seem like a friend, which would be false. That would make sense.

According to Schofield. Parton was not the only well-known musician to turn down Markle, either on her Netflix show or Markle's podcast. Taylor Swift passed on appearing on the Duchess's Archetypes podcast, with Beyoncé did as well.

Maybe Markle will find different friends and they will appear on her series. But she better be careful who she asks. She wouldn't want to cause anyone to be livid simply from the asking.
