Full list of new Netflix shows and movies coming in September 2026

The official end of summer has finally arrived with the final long weekend before it's socially appropriate to begin celebrating fall. Labor Day weekend signals closing time for summer, though fall doesn't technically begin until the end of September. Nevertheless, Netflix provides the perfect collection of new releases throughout the month no matter when summer ends for you.

Following the highly anticipated returns of My Life with the Walter Boys, Outer Banks, Leanne, and Beauty in Black in August, Netflix continues the trend of bringing back fan-favorite original series with The Gentlemen. The crime comedy-drama starring Theo James has had fans waiting for over two years, but the long wait for season 2 has ended.

Netflix also releases the fourth installment of Ryan Murphy's Monster anthology series, this time telling the story of Lizzie Borden. September boasts premieres of original series that are destined to become hits, including the teen sports drama series Crew Girl and the A Different World reboot series that's brimming with nostalgia and laughs alike.

The streaming service has a few new original movies on deck for September, like the teen dance movie Best of the Best starring Never Have I Ever favorite Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and thriller Unabomber starring Russell Crowe, Jacob Tremblay, and Shailene Woodley. That's not even including all of the incredible recent hit movies and throwbacks coming as well.

Beyond the new Netflix original shows and movies coming in Septmeber 2026, there are lots of small screen favorites being added. When Calls the Heart spinoff series When Hope Calls arrives with two seasons, while Murder in a Small Town, Major Crimes, and Party Down are a few TV shows dropping throughout the month.
