There are so many shows and movies on Netflix these days. New releases arrive, and some others get canceled or end their time on the platform. You can, of course, keep up with all those arrivals and exits on here. Let’s also help you keep up with what to watch by sharing the global top five English shows and movies from Tudum. The list has just been updated for the week ending Sunday, January 26.

The top five movies see a slight surprise as Carry-On, the Die Hard-style airport drama with Taran Egerton slides out after just two weeks. Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in their 2010 comedy action caper Knight And Day are also gone. There is a neat mix of emotional drama that will tug on the heartstrings in the two new entries into the five.

When it comes to the top five shows, you can see the strong effect a new season has on earlier ones. They get a real boost from the added attention. Missing You, the latest Harlan Coben drama slips just outside this top five list.

5 - You Gotta Believe

Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear join forces to coach a Texas Little League baseball team. Their sons are in the struggling team who start off keen to see the season end. Against all the odds they turn the team around, big style. An emotional family drama.

4 - Father Stu

Mark Wahlberg plays the title role of a failed boxer who turns to religion and becomes a priest. After a serious accident and then illness, he tests himself in front of god and others. This 2022 biographical drama is deep and emotional, but with humor too.

3 - Secret Life Of Pets

The original 2016 animation comedy in this series. It follows spoiled pet Max and his huge rescue dog pal Duke. A cute, warm film, it promises an insight into what pets get up to when their owners aren’t around.

2 - Secret Life Of Pets 2

After their success with the 2016 original animation, the team behind it and Despicable Me continue their success with this 2019 follow-up. Understandably it’s more crazy pet adventures with Max and Duke. The theme of what they get up to without their owners continues.

1 - Back In Action

A return to movies for Cameron Diaz in this action comedy. Paired with Jamie Foxx, they star as a couple who were both spies but gave it up to raise a family. With their cover blown, they have to return to the field, but with the kids in tow.

5 - XO, Kitty: Season 1

Anna Cathcart takes the lead role in this teen romance drama. She plays the youngest sister from the To All The Boys Netflix films in a spin-off TV series. Kitty moves to South Korea to attend the Korean International School of Seoul and meets up with her boyfriend, Dae, who studies there too.

4 - The Night Agent: Season 1

An all-action thriller from 2023 with Gabriel Basso playing an FBI agent caught up in a US government conspiracy. Basso, as Peter Sutherland, has to find out who the traitor on the inside is. In doing so he becomes a target himself.

3 - American Primeval

Set in 1857, America, with a cast including Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Dane Dehaan, and Saura Lightfoot Leon. A drama about how the West was born. Features the conflicts among natives and settlers and the many cultures involved. It’s a brutal and harsh life for all concerned.

2 - XO, Kitty: Season 2

A busy second series with Anna Cathcart in the lead role. Anna as Kitty returns to South Korea. With change in the air for herself and the school, there is plenty of the usual drama, silliness, and romance in this second season.

1 - The Night Agent: Season 2

After the huge success of the first season, the second was released in January 2025. It’s set ten months after the first and the action kicks off in Bangkok. Worryingly it looks as though there is another leak on the inside revealing Peter Sutherland’s movements.
