The Lincoln Lawyer has been somewhat of a surprise success on Netflix. The show was created by David E. Kelley, who has had a long run of success in television, but that does not mean that every show he touches turns to gold. Plus, The Lincoln Lawyer was an idea that seemed done, and who knew if anyone would want to watch.

Netflix took a chance in 2022 that the series would be at least a moderate success. It might have exceeded the streamer's expectations. Star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who plays Mickey Haller, had been in a bunch of movies and shows, but could he carry a series? As it turns out, he could.

The series follows an attorney who runs a law firm literally out of the back of his car (yes, it is a Lincoln), as he takes on cases of all sizes in Los Angeles. Sounds simple, sure, but also sounds like there could be a lot of ideas stemming from that original plot.

Netflix renews The Lincoln Lawyer for a fourth season and there should be much rejoicing

In fact, there has been. On Tuesday, Netflix announced that the show has been renewed for a fourth season. The storyline will follow Michael Connelly's book, The Law of Innocence. Season four will be 10 episodes long and will feature a bigger role for Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson). In season three, she had a diminished role, and the show lacked her excellence.

Campbell and Garcia-Rulfo won't be the only returnees for the fourth season. Becki Newton (Lorna Crane), Jazz Raycole (Izzy Letts), and Angus Sampson (Cisco Wojciechowski) are coming back as well. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, Netflix and Kelley have decided to keep running on the same tires. That is certainly not a bad thing.

If you are thinking of whether The Lincoln Lawyer is worth the watch, just check Rotten Tomatoes. Critics love it, and so do fans. It has an 86 percent approval from fans alone. So, if you want to watch (and you should), you certainly will not be alone.
