Emily's adventures in Paris aren't over yet! Our girl is set to return with another chapter of her personal and professional live in Emily in Paris season 6, and the beloved Netflix original romantic comedy series finally has an exciting update to share with fans.
Following the December 2025 release of the fifth season, Netflix quickly announced the Emily in Paris season 6 renewal in January 2026, marking the first original series the streaming service renewed this year. While fans have been hungry to learn what happens next, cameras haven't started rolling just yet. However, a new report reveals when the cast and crew are getting back to work.
Emily in Paris season 6 begins filming in May 2026
According to What's on Netflix, Emily in Paris season 6 begins filming in Paris on May 11, 2026 and after a four-month shoot as usual, production's wrap is expected to take place on Sept. 30. The production update came directly from Netflix’s Vice President of French Content, Pauline Dauvin, who shared the thrilling news in an interview with Ouest France. The countdown is on!

Emily in Paris has typically maintained the same annual production cycle, which entails filming taking place during the spring or summer. This cycle has shifted in certain years due to unforeseen circumstances like the strikes or major events like the Olympics in Paris. But season 6 will be able to begin without any impediments in May 2026 and wrap as fall begins.
Netflix has previously confirmed that Emily in Paris season 6 will be released before the end of 2026. Obviously, filming coming to a conclusion at the end of September forces the show into a tight turnaround period if it's set to score a release date in December once again. Last season, filming concluded at the end of August 2025, and season 5 later premiered on Dec. 18.
It's not impossible for season 6 to wrap filming in late September and managed to end up on our watch lists around the holiday season. As a half-hour comedy that's now in its sixth season, it's a well-oiled machine that doesn't have a demanding post-production process. There aren't extensive special effects that you'd find in a show like Stranger Things.
For now, don't expect new episodes to hit our watch lists until at least the week before Christmas. It's highly unlikely that Netflix would opt to either split the season into two releases or push the full release back until January 2027. We'll know more about the release plans, as well as casting details and possible other filming locations, once cameras begins rolling this spring.
