Deceitful Love rated TV-MA for sex and nudity

According to the show's official page on Netflix, Deceitful Love has earned a rating of TV-MA for its inclusion of language, nudity, sex, and smoking. The series has been designated for mature audiences, meaning it's not appropriate for viewers much younger than 18. Before diving into the series that's been burning up the top 10 upon its premiere, here's a spoiler-free guide to what you should expect from the sex scenes and nudity in the six episodes.

Sex and nudity

For those wondering, the sex and nudity are rather severe in Deceitful Love. One of the first scenes of the series involves Gabriella on her balcony watching as Elia strips down and dives naked into the ocean. In this scene, only his backside is visible. There are many instances of male rear nudity from Giacomo Gianniotti as Elia throughout the series, and there are even more instances of the actor shirtless or in underwear in each episode.

In addition to the male nudity in the series, there's also a fair amount of upper female nudity featured in the sex scenes. While not as explicit as some R-rated movies, the sex scenes leave little to the imagination, but don't show much beyond male rear and female upper nudity. If you're bashful or don't like shows with sex and nudity, this might not be the show for you to watch.

Language, violence, and smoking

Throughout the series, the language is heightened and features profanity and discussion of mature themes and topics. Also, Deceitful Love features an English dub for viewers in the United States, as the show's native language is Italian. You can choose to watch the show without the dubbed dialogue and rely on the subtitles to understand what's going on.

The show does include characters smoking cigarettes as well as instances of violence. There's physical violence in the form of fighting as well as scenes with guns. In one flashback scene, a character attempts suicide by jumping into a body of water. For the most part, there's not a large amount of violence in the series, but be warned that there are mild cases.
