There's no shortage of binge-worthy shows from past and present to watch on Netflix, between the streamer's amazing selection of original hits like Stranger Things, Wednesday, and Bridgerton, and the vast library of acquired series that allow us to relive past favorites. Thankfully, the streaming service continues to add more and more nostalgic shows perfect for a long binge.

Last year, The CW's seminal teen drama Gossip Girl returned to Netflix after some time away, and we all rushed to catch up with those messy Upper East Siders and revel in some late-2000s, early 2010s memories. Over the past year, we have been treated to binge-watches like Nashville, Sullivan's Crossing, The Royals, Scandal, and more television shows that regained popularity.

This fall, Netflix looks to do it all over again with another iconic classic from the small screen that will always have a special place in an entire generation's heart. If you somehow haven't taken a trip down to Capeside, Massachusetts for a visit to a particularly drama-filled creek, then now's your chance. Dawson's Creek is making its long-awaited comeback on Netflix!

Dawson's Creek begins streaming on Netflix in October 2025

Netflix surprised fans on Oct. 2 with the announcement that Dawson's Creek seasons 1-6, the complete series, would be added on Friday, Oct. 3. The streaming service made the announcement on social media with the show's legendary opening title sequence featuring the show's original theme song, "I Don't Want to Wait" by Paula Cole. ("Run Like Mad" won't be back this time, iykyk.)

It's an unusually last-minute announcement from Netflix, which typically reveals its new releases for the upcoming month at the end of the previous month. Netflix already revealed its new releases for October 2025, and Dawson's Creek wasn't featured on the list. Listen, we're not complaining!

The show makes its Netflix comeback after the cast reunited in New York City for a reading of the pilot episode in support of cast member James Van Der Beek's battle with cancer and in support of the F Cancer charity. Arranged by Michelle Williams, fellow Dawson's cast members Katie Holmes,Joshua Jackson, Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, Meredith Monroe, and Busy Philipps appeared at the reunion. Lin Manuel Miranda took Van Der Beek's place after illness kept him at home, though he made a virtual cameo at the event.

There's definitely a heightened sense of nostalgia in the air for Dawson's Creek. It's the correct time for a rewatch of the show with teenagers whose vocabulary is as big as their feelings. Escape into the cozy, sometimes crazy, but always entertaining world of Capeside and relive every twist and turn in the Dawson, Joey, Pacey, and Jen love rectangle. Don't wait... run like mad to Netflix!

Watch all six seasons of Dawson's Creek on Netflix beginning Oct. 3.
