We can always count on Netflix to deliver the most gripping, can't-miss limited series that we actually want to watch. The latest thriller limited series to take over the streaming service is Lord of the Flies, which is based on the book of the same name by William Golding. Following the premiere of the four-episode series on May 4, the series quickly skyrocketed on the Netflix Top 10.

Lord of the Flies follows a group of young boys in the 1950s who become stranded on an island after an airplane crash leaves them to their own devices. Among the group, the boys work together to survive their predicament on the island, but their power dynamics soon begin to drive a wedge between them that becomes too dangerous and insurmountable to sustain.

It's a captivating series that will have you absolutely rapt from beginning to end. But your binge-watch will end after only four hourlong episodes. What should you watch on Netflix next? Thankfully, there are lots of thriller limited series that you should watch or even rewatch and are the perfect choice after the new Netflix hit. We're sharing four great picks below!

Unchosen

A fellow recent release on Netflix, Unchosen arrived in April 2026 and caught fans by surprise. The cult drama premiered with little fanfare or hype, but within 24 hours of release, the series already made its presence known in the Top 10 and became the hot show to watch.

The British psychological thriller centers in a Christian community where Rosie (Molly Windsor) begins to feel the restraints and limitations in her life with her husband and the community's leader Adam (Asa Butterfield). However, an escaped prisoner named Sam (Fra Fee) presents freedom.

It's no surprise that Unchosen took over the Netflix Top 10 right when it was released. The series drops the viewer into a chilling world from the perspective of a character we're really rooting for. After finishing Lord of the Flies, add the six-episode series to your watch list if you haven't already.

From creators Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, Adolescence was famously filmed in one shot for each of its episodes as the series unravels the events that occur after 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) gets arrested for the murder of a young girl and faces the consequences.

Adolescence remains the No. 2 most popular English-Language Netflix original series of all time, begind Wednesday season 1, with 142.6 million views and 546.5 million hours viewed. Maybe it's time to revist the Emmy Award-winning series one year after its release.

The Chestnut Man

It's been a long time coming for Netflix's original Danish crime thriller series The Chestnut Man, but the series finally returned. After originally premiering with a six-episode first season in September 2021, a second season was officially ordered in 2024 and premiered in May 2026.

Based on the book Kastanjemanden (also known as The Chestnut Man) by Søren Sveistrup, the series is a chilling and gripping investigation into a serial killer in Copenhagen. The killer targets mothers and leaves figurines made out of chestnuts at the scenes of his crimes, hence the title.

In the second season, which has the title The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek, detectives look into the murders of a 41-year-old woman and 17-year-old that could be connected. All told, both seasons add up to 12 episodes total, which are fit for an edge-of-your-seat weekend binge-watch.

Legends

Last but not least, we have another new Netflix show that premiered the same week as both Lord of the Flies and The Chestnut Man: Hide and Seek. Save some room on your watch list for the British drama series Legends, which is loosely based on a true story that took place in the 1990s.

While the other thriller series on this list tackle follow character fighting for survival or detectives tracking a serial killer, Legends delves into the world of crime as Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise brings together a small team to go undercover and defeat Britain's leading drug gangs.

Legends has mostly flown under the radar prior to its release, but the six-episode series made its debut on the daily Netflix Top 10 most popular shows ranking after only one day. If you're looking for more suspense and thrills, this is exactly what you're looking for next!
