There's no arguing that Bridgerton is one of the most popular Netflix original series of all time, and nothing can change that. Since launching in December 2020, the Regency romance series based on the books by Julia Quinn has enchanted viewers world and continues to do so going into season 5. But according to the numbers, season 4 managed to end the show's unbeatable streak.
Beginning with season 1, every entry in the Bridgerton franchise, even the prequel spinoff series Queen Charlotte, has managed to accumulate high enough viewership numbers within the required 91-day measurement period to make an appearance on Netflix's Global Top 10 Most Popular English-Language Shows ranking. Well, Bridgerton season 4 becomes the first season to miss the all-time Top 10.
Bridgerton season 4 misses out on Netflix's all-time Top 10
According to What's on Netflix, Bridgerton season 4 only brought in somewhere between 92 to 95 million views total since part 2 dropped on Feb. 26, and that's not enough views within the given time period to make the all-time Top 10 ranking. His & Hears currently holds down the No. 10 position on the all-time Top 10 with 98.2 million views, and Bridgerton season 4 clearly didn't surpass its total.
Even though four seasons of the Bridgerton franchise came before season 4, and each of them made an appearance on the all-time Top 10 chart, only two seasons remain on the coveted leaderboard. Season 1 places at No. 7 with 113.3 million views, and season 3 places just two places below at No. 9 with 106 million views and could be in danger of being bumped from the list in the near future.

Here's the current ranking as of June 2, 2026 as seen above:
- 1. Wednesday season 1 — 252.1 million views
- 2. Adolescence — 142.6 million views
- 3. Stranger Things season 4 — 140.7 million views
- 4. Stranger Things season 5 — 133.8 million views
- 5. Wednesday season 2 — 119.3 million views
- 6. DAHMER: Monster — 115.6 million views
- 7. Bridgerton season 1 — 113.3 million views
- 8. The Queen's Gambit — 112.8 million views
- 9. Bridgerton season 3 — 106 million views
- 10. His & Hers — 98.2 million views
As you can see, it's pretty difficult, even for an established franchise, to crack into the ranking these days. But there's also some rather frequent movement (more than you would think) on the leaderboard. When His & Hers made the ranking this spring, the limited series bumped The Night Agent season 1 right off the list after managing to stay put for many years.
There's no telling what the next Netflix original series will be that could exceeding expectations and blow up with its global viewership. The streamer has a few new titles coming this summer that could potentially find success worldwide, such as the Little House on the Prairie reboot, Harlan Coben's latest mystery I Will Find You, and Will Ferrell's comedy The Hawk. But you never know!
Just because Bridgerton season 4 ended the franchise's winning streak by missing out on an appearance on the all-time Top 10 doesn't signify any larger takeaways about the season's quality or the franchise's legacy. Season 4 still brought in more views than the average Netflix original series and isn't slowing down anytime soon. Bridgerton season 5 is coming next year and could surprise us.
