When a year begins with an event on Netflix as big as the Stranger Things series finale, it's hard to imagine that there's anywhere left to go but downhill. However, that was not the case with 2026 in the least, as the year has continued to deliver some of the most exciting Netflix shows in recent memory, from new seasons of beloved hits to new limited series like His & Hers.
It's no secret that twisty mystery limited series have become the bread and butter on Netflix and an instant fan-favorite among subscribers. We love to dive into these world full of secrets and intrigue, and His & Hers kicked off the year with exactly what we were looking for. A few short months later, the limited series just made an achievement that no other new Netflix show has this year.
His & Hers becomes one of Netflix's most popular shows of all time
On April 14, Netflix announced that His & Hers officially made its debut on the Top 10 Most Popular Shows ranking at No. 10. The limited series starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal kicked The Night Agent season 1 from the leaderboard after bringing in 98.2 million views in its first 90 days, which amounts to over 428 million hours viewed.
Even though the Stranger Things season 5 finale premiered on Dec. 31, 2025, meaning the majority of the super-sized series finale's views came in the first days of 2026, this is the first new Netflix original series of 2026 to manage to break into the highly coveted all-time ranking. Apart from His & Hers, the newest show on the list is 2025's Emmy-winning limited series Adolescence.

His & Hers made this incredible feat just under the wire, as the show's 91-day window of being eligible for the all-time most popular ranking ended on April 9, right in the middle of the April 6-12 tracking week. But the show squeaked out a real win and bested one of the biggest Netflix shows. The Night Agent no longer has a presence in the all-time Top 10 ranking.
Currently, as of April 14, 2026, these are the Top 10 Most Popular Netflix Shows of all-time:
- Wednesday season 1 (251.1 million views)
- Adolescence (142.6 million views)
- Stranger Things season 4 (140.7 million views)
- Stranger Things season 5 (133.8 million views)
- Wednesday season 2 (119.3 million views)
- DAHMER: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (115.6 million views)
- Bridgerton season 1 (113.3 million views)
- The Queen's Gambit (112.8 million views)
- Bridgerton season 3 (106 million views)
- His & Hers (98.2 million views)
Even though His & Hers has found extended success as a sleeper hit this year, it's not expected for the limited series to return for a second season. The series is based on the book of the same name by Alice Feeney and was intended to be a one-season story. Of course, we have seen many limited series end up getting renewed for season 2 with much less viewership success.
There's no doubt that His & Hers will end up being a major competitor at the Emmy Awards later this year, especially for the performances of Thompson and Bernthal. Depending on its success with awards, Netflix could consider continuing the series somehow, maybe even as an anthology, but don't hold your breath. For now, let's hope the series holds onto its place in the all-time Top 10.
