Brett Goldstein might be one of the more underrated players in movies and TV series. He doesn't just act, either. Nor does he only act and write. He creates, and what he comes up with are some excellent and highly entertaining ideas.

Many might know him from playing Roy Kent on the Apple TV series, Ted Lasso. Kent is a good-hearted menace. He is not easy to please, but he will help those in need. Goldstein plays the character dynamically and exceptionally well.

Some might know him from another Apple TV series, Shrinking. His part is minor on that show (he doesn't appear until season two), but essential. He plays the character who drives drunk and kills Jason Siegel's character's wife. The show is a comedy with a heavy dose of kind-hearted drama. Goldstein also co-wrote the episodes and created the show.

Brett Goldstein, Jennifer Lopez and Netflix should equal quality entertainment

A future project already in production will belong to Netflix. The film is called Office Romance and features Goldstein and Jennifer Lopez, who are also producers. Ol Parker will direct, just as he did Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Lopez's father will be played by Edward James Olmos, who played her father in the excellent biopic Selena in 1997.

The exact details of the plot and the release date are unknown. Filming is underway, though, so the expectation should be that the project is released in 2026, if not late 2025.

Who is in the cast of Office Romance?

  • Jennifer Lopez as Jackie Cruz
  • Brett Goldstein as Daniel Blanchflower
  • Betty Gilpin as Sydney
  • Edward James Olmos as Captain Jack Cruz
  • Tony Hale as George Zein
  • Bradley Whitford as Peter Vance
  • Amy Sedaris as Julie Schatz
  • Tony Plana as Francisco Alberto
  • Roger Bart as William Butten

The rest of the cast consists of Jackie Sandler, Donald Elise Watkins, Jodie Whittaker, Natalie Ortega, Mary Wiseman, Brian Gallivan, Ali Stroker, Michelle Hurd, Scott Seiss, Lisa Gilroy, Rick Hoffman, Will Sasso, and Mo Welch.

With a cast like that, imagining the movie being bad is difficult. With Goldstein producing, writing, and starring, we should safely expect excellence and high-quality entertainment.
