We're quickly approaching the end of summer and the beginning of the fall season, but before summer comes to an end, there are still lots of Netflix shows to look forward to in August 2025. Wednesday season 2 begins in August and My Life with the Walter Boys also finally returns with its highly anticipated second season, among many other exciting new releases.
But beyond the Netflix original series arriving in August, the streamer also gifts our watch lists with some of the best titles the small screen has to offer from across broadcast, cable, and even other streaming services. Fire Country, Outlander, and Sullivan's Crossing all have new seasons coming to Netflix, as do other series. However, Netflix will also be removing some favorites.
Find out the best TV shows coming to Netflix in the United States throughout August 2025 and which ones you need to hurry up and binge-watch!

Fire Country season 2
Coming to Netflix on Aug. 1. After coming to Netflix last year, Fire Country caught on like wildfire with the streamer's audience. Unfortunately, only the first season was available to watch. It's been a long wait for Netflix subscribers wanting more Fire Country, but the second season finally begins streaming at the top of August. Season 2 only features 10 episodes, which will be a quick binge. If you can't wait for season 3, which seems likely to hit Netflix next year, the series also streams on Paramount+. You can catch up before season 4 premieres on CBS this fall!
Love Life seasons 1 and 2
Coming to Netflix on Aug. 5. If you were a fan of the romantic comedy series Love Life on HBO Max, you're getting a second chance to check it out on Netflix. The series first debuted in 2020 starring Anna Kendrick and returned for season 2 in 2021 led by William Jackson Harper. Love Life tracks one character's love life from beginning to end through all the ups and downs. Sadly, the anthology series was canceled and removed from HBO Max. Finally, it's getting a new place to land and perhaps will find a new audience thanks to the reach of Netflix. Check out the series on Aug. 5.
Ugly Betty seasons 1-4
Leaving Netflix on Aug. 1. While it's exciting that we'll get to dive into the two above series on Netflix this month, a tried and true binge-watch will be saying farewell. The ABC comedy-drama series Ugly Betty became available to stream on Netflix back in August 2023, and after three years on the platform, the Emmy Award-winning series is leaving. If you loved having it accessible to you or if you didn't get a chance to watch, all four seasons of the underrated America Ferrera hit are still available to stream on Hulu and on Disney+ with the Hulu bundle.

Outlander season 7 part 1
Coming to Netflix on Aug. 11. Even though Outlander fans are eagerly awaiting the impending premiere of the prequel series Blood of My Blood this month, as well as the eighth and final season next year, there's a little treat coming to Netflix. As always, two years after airing on Starz, here comes a new season of Outlander to Netflix! Outlander season 7 part 1, which consists of eight episodes, begins streaming on Netflix on Aug. 11. Obviously, it's not the complete seventh season. The second half of the season will likely arrive on the streamer next year.
Sullivan's Crossing season 3
Coming on Aug. 11. One of the biggest hits on Netflix this summer, The CW's romantic drama series Sullivan's Crossing gave Virgin River fans something to watch while we wait for season 7. The series debuted on Netflix with its first two seasons and became an overnight sensation, taking over the top 10 most popular shows ranking and hitting the peak. That's quite the accomplishment! Thankfully, Netflix is striking when the iron is red hot and bringing the most recent third season to our watch lists on Aug. 11. After that, we'll have to wait for season 4 to hit The CW in 2026.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
Leaving Netflix on Aug. 19. There's bad news for The Walking Dead fans on Netflix this month. The fan-favorite spinoff series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will be removed on Aug. 19. The six-episode miniseries brought Andrew Lincoln back into the fold as Rick Grimes, but now's your last chance to watch the show on Netflix. On the same day, Netflix will also remove a handful of fellow AMC series that were added to the platform last year. If you have been slacking on your binge-watching, check out the full list of shows leaving Netflix in August below!
