Best Stand-up Comedy Specials on Netflix (2020)

44. Oh, Hello on Broadway on Netflix

Not your typical stand-up special as this is a full-fledged Broadway show of Oh, Hello from John Mulaney and Nick Kroll. The two first presented these characters in the Kroll Show years ago and has transformed and expanded the characters so much that they had more than 100 showings at the Lyceum Theater.

The two play George St. Geegland and Gil Faizon, a pair of elderly bachelors living in the Upper West Side and have a passion for pranking people by giving them too much tuna. It’s much more than that though and it’s best served to watch it unfold instead of explaining the jokes, but it’s such a masterpiece that I’d add it to my watch list immediately. There’s also a special guest appearance from Steve Martin about halfway through the 1:47 minute special that was a delight to see him being interviewed by George and Gil. Directed by Alex Timbers.
