43. Neal Brennan: 3 Mics

This is the first Netflix special for Neal Brennan, the former writing partner of Dave Chappelle on The Chappelle’s Show and gets a stage to carve out a bigger name for himself. This January release is an appropriate title for his first Netflix special because he literally uses three microphones to deliver his set.

Brennan has one mic set aside for his one-liners. This is material that Brennan had left over from Twitter that makes for great in-and-out material to get a quick laugh.

He has a second microphone to deliver his “normal” stand-up material. Lastly, the third microphone was reserved for Brennan to dive into some emotional topics. Stuff that needs a little room to breathe and comes from a different place than your standard material for a stand-up special.

Combine the three mics into one special and you get one of the best new stand-up specials on Netflix.
