Ah, the weekend. Two glorious days when responsibilities take a backseat, snacks become meals, and Netflix becomes your best friend. 2026 just started, and the streaming giant is steadily serving up new shows that are impossible to ignore.

While this is a great problem to have, deciding what to watch first can be… overwhelming. Do you go for a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your couch? A feel-good comedy that makes you laugh until your stomach hurts? Or a binge-worthy drama that you’ll talk about all week?

Don’t worry! We’ve done the hard work for you by putting together a list of the three best Netflix shows to watch this weekend. With these series, you should be set for hours of entertainment!

Run Away

Run Away

If you're a fan of thrillers, I'm sure you've come across the Harlan Coben shows on Netflix. Typically, we get at least one gripping series a year that's based on his books. Run Away is the latest series adaptation, and it delivers all the suspense, twists, and emotional drama you’ve come to expect from Coben’s stories.

It stars James Nesbitt as Simon Greene, a father whose life unravels in the most devastating way possible, as he searches for his missing daughter and uncovers secrets that threaten to destroy everything he holds dear. Joining Nesbitt in the cast are Ellie de Lange, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati, Jon Pointing, and others.

If you end up enjoying Run Away, you'll be happy to know that another Coben series is coming this year as well. It's titled I Will Find You, and it also centers around a desperate father determined to uncover the truth and protect his family.

His & Hers
(L to R) Jon Bernthal as Detective Jack Harper and Tessa Thompson as Anna in Episode #101 of His & Hers | Netflix

His & Hers

His & Hers is the newest Netflix show on this list, and it's an absolute must-watch! The mystery thriller series follows Anna Andrews, an Atlanta news anchor who has retreated from the world after a personal tragedy. When a brutal murder rocks her hometown, Anna can’t resist getting involved, despite the danger.

The twist? Her estranged husband, Detective Jack Harper, is leading the investigation, and old resentments, secrets, and unresolved feelings immediately resurface. Whoever made the final call to pair Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal together deserves a trophy, or at least a very enthusiastic high-five. Their on-screen sparks fly as Anna and Jack, and their banter hits just right. Not once will you feel bored watching this show. And when you get to that big twist at the end? You'll be reeling, wondering how you didn’t see it coming.

My Korean Boyfriend

My Korean Boyfriend

At the very beginning of this year, Netflix released a new reality series called My Korean Boyfriend. If I'm being honest, this show caught me off guard. I wasn't planning to watch it, and truthfully, I really only had it on for background noise. However, I was hooked from the first episode.

Watching five Brazilian women meet and navigate relationships with their long-distance Korean boyfriends was equal parts awkward, hilarious, and surprisingly heartwarming. Between language barriers, cultural differences, and all the unexpected twists of real-life romance, My Korean Boyfriend quickly became impossible to stop watching. So, go ahead and make sure you add this reality show to your weekend watchlist!

Here's the official logline for My Korean Boyfriend via Netflix:

"Five Brazilian women, each at different stages of pre-existing relationships, travel to Seoul—some returning after previous visits—to find out if their long-distance relationships can survive expectations and differences, including cultural ones. Do K-drama-like romances really exist in real life?"

All three of the series just listed can be streamed on Netflix right now.
