It's not even Halloween yet, but Netflix has already given us an early holiday present by unwrapping its holiday movie slate, and we can't wait.

We don't have to wait until December to make merry with mistletoe, hot chocolate, and movies, because Netflix's brand-new Christmas movies will begin premiering in November.

While Hallmark has often been the go-to for holiday magic, Netflix has stepped up its game and has released several holiday favorites. Classics like The Princess Switch and The Christmas Chronicles sit alongside modern favorites like Hot Frosty and Falling for Christmas. This year's line-up includes more holiday romances, family drama, and chaotic comedy, but there's a twist. Three of the films are adapted from beloved novels and will be fun for book-to-screen fans.

A Dog's Perfect Christmas

Netflix release date: Nov. 4, 2026

Grab your tissues and your furbaby because Netflix's newest holiday film will bring tears and laughter, and you don't want to miss it. W. Bruce Cameron's beloved novel, A Dog's Perfect Christmas, is the latest dog-centric installment in A Dog's Purpose universe. This book-to-screen adaptation features a fractured family facing an unexpected medical crisis during the holidays, forcing three generations—and some adorable dogs—to live under one roof and face their differences.

It includes an all-star cast, including Dennis Quaid, Mary Steenburgen, and Milo Ventimiglia. It will be the first Netflix Christmas movie to be released in 2026, and based on the trailer, this dog-narrated drama shouldn't be missed, as it will bring heartwarming laughs and a few tears.

The Gospel of Christmas

Netflix release date: Nov. 11, 2026

Tyler Perry's fans will be excited about his upcoming holiday film, The Gospel of Christmas. As part of his expanded multi-year first-look deal with Netflix, Perry writes, directs, and produces this poignant seasonal drama. The story follows a struggling pastor fighting to revitalize his family's historic church in a troubled New York City neighborhood alongside his supportive wife. Durrell 'Tank' Babbs and Fantasia Barrino lead the cast.

The film also features an extraordinary lineup of gospel music royalty—including Ann Nesby, Jekayln Carr, Yolanda Adams, and The Clark Sisters—and is directed by executive producer Kirk Franklin. You don't want to miss one of the most anticipated releases in Perry's growing Netflix catalog.

Guarding Stars

Netflix release date: Nov. 18, 2026

Millennial TV dreams are officially coming true this holiday season as CW royalty Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) finally share the screen in Netflix's highly anticipated romantic comedy, Guarding Stars.

A clever, gender-flipped holiday take on Jennifer Center's The Bodyguard, the film stars Meester as Hannah, a lethal, no-nonsense executive protection agent assigned to protect a charming Hollywood action star, Jack Stapleton, (Padalecki), from a persistent stalker.

The stakes heighten when they travel home for Christmas to visit Jack's ailing mother and family matriarch, Sally Stapleton (Andie MacDowell). To keep Sally from worrying about the danger, Jack convinces Hannah to pose as his girlfriend—forcing them into a high-stakes "fake dating" arrangement where the boundary between professional duty and genuine romantic sparks begins to blur. This is one of the most anticipated holiday films, and from the official trailer, we understand why.

In a Holidaze

Netflix release date: December 2, 2026

Netflix wraps up its heavy-hitting book-to-screen slate with In a Holidaze, based on the 2020 bestselling novel by the beloved romance author duo Christina Lauren. The film is being described as Love Actually meets Groundhog Day. Maddie Ziegler stars as Maelyn Jones, a directionless twenty-something who makes a romantic error of epic proportions during her family's annual Christmas trip to a cozy Utah cabin.

After Maelyn pleads to the universe, she  gets stuck in a holiday time loop, forced to relive the same Christmas vacation until she can figure out what truly makes her happy. Who doesn't love a time-travel aspect? Holidate rom-com veteran Tiffany Paulsen also directed the film, as she's well-versed in chaotic, heartwarming stories. It features a stellar supporting ensemble, including Rob Lowe (who also executive produces), Graham Phillips, Elias Kacavas, and comedy favorites Patton Oswalt and Jackie Sandler.
