They say all good things must come to an end, but you never want that to happen to your favorite show. Unfortunately, Netflix shows come to an end sooner than later (sometimes sooner), and that will be true of some fan favorites in 2026.
Going into the new year, we already know that we will be saying goodbye to handful of beloved Netflix originals. After Stranger Things ends on New Year's Eve, technically the first day of 2026 for many parts of the world, the year will continue with many more endings.
Keep in mind that these four shows are currently the ones that have been confirmed to have final seasons on the way, and others could be added to the list throughout 2026. For now, take a look at the farewells we need to be prepared for on Netflix this year!

The Upshaws
Following the official end of Stranger Things at the top of the year, Netflix preps it's next series finale about two weeks later. The long-running family sitcom The Upshaws releases its fifth and final season — also called part 7 — on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
The hilarious comedy starring Mike Epps, Kim Fields, and Wanda Sykes first premiered on Netflix back May 2021 and has been a big hit. Once and for all, The Upshaws will end with 12 new episodes dropping all at once. It's going to be so hard to say goodbye!

Outer Banks
If we thought saying goodbye to the Upshaw family was going to be tough, imagine how we're going to feels when it's time for the Pogues to bow out. When Outer Banks premiered in 2020 and became a pandemic sensation that brought joy, we couldn't have imagined how far it would go.
But the adventures will come to an end in 2026 with Outer Banks season 5, which picks up in the aftermath of JJ's death by his biological father in the season 4 finale. Filming wrapped just before the end of 2025, meaning we could see the series back by late spring or summer 2026.

Survival of the Thickest
Another underrated Netflix original comedy series will also be back for its final season in 2026, and we're not ready for this one to leave our watch lists. Michelle Buteau returns as Mavis Beaumont in Survival of the Thickest season 3 in 2026 for the grand finale.
The final season of the hidden gem comedy began filming in December 2025 and should wrap sometime in February 2026 for a release later on in the year. For now, we'd expect Mavis to bid us adieu sometime in the summer, maybe even in early fall.

The Witcher
Liam Hemsworth made his debut as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher season 4 in October 2025, and he has already filmed his final episodes of the show. That's right, after five seasons, the epic Netflix original fantasy drama comes to an end in 2026.
Thankfully, there's still quite a bit of time left until The Witcher fans will have to mourn the loss of the show. Season 5 isn't expected to make its debut until sometime late in the year. But it's yet another hugely popular Netflix show that will be leaving us high and dry this year.
