Netflix continues to produce high-quality sports documentaries and series on legendary athletes. There are three more on tap that fans are excited about, featuring NFL legend Brett Favre, tennis icon Rafael Nadal, and another NFL quarterback legend: John Elway.

The streaming network continues its steady program drops following the April 23 release of tennis superstar Carlos Alcaraz: My Way, a two-part series in which Rafael Nadal appeared.

Favre's program is imminent so we know the most about it; however, here's what we know about each Netflix production.

Untold: The Fall of Favre

Drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1991, Brett Favre is an NFL Hall of Famer whose tenacity and grit on the football field made him a beloved star in Green Bay, where he spent the majority of his career. Favre, 55, retired in 2010 after brief stints with the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Jets.

Netflix will dive into the controversies that followed Favre from his playing days to retirement, most notably the sexting scandal with Jets media personality Jenn Sterger and the allegations of misappropriated Mississippi welfare funds.

Untold: The Fall of Favre will be released on May 20.

Rafa

Rafael Nadal, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, retired from the sport in 2022. In his final year of competitive tennis, he gave Netflix unprecedented access to his life on and off the court.

Fans are eager to see this, though no release date has been shared. Many think it could drop in June. Nadal turns 39 on June 3. He is expected to be honored at this year's French Open for his unprecedented 14 wins. The French Open concludes on June 8.

After watching Alcaraz's Netflix series, fans wonder if Nadal's voice will be heard. In the English version of Alcaraz's program, a voiceover that sounded nothing like him was used. Captions would have been preferred. It will be interesting to see what Netflix does after hearing that criticism.

ELWAY

Netflix announced plans for a documentary sharing the life of Hall of Fame NFL quarterback John Elway, 64. Elway's Denver Broncos football career includes 16 seasons (1983-1998) as a player and 12 years (2011-2022) as an executive.

Little information has been released about the program. Recent tragic events could impact or scrap the project altogether. John Elway's longtime agent and business partner was killed in an accident after falling off a golf cart driven by Elway.
