Pact of Silence

Seasons: 1

Each month, there are dozens of new Netflix original series from around the world added to the platform, and plenty of them quickly take up residence in the top 10. Pact of Silence arrived in October 2023 and became an instant hit. The Mexican drama series appeals to fans of Pretty Little Liars and Revenge, so it’s no wonder it’s managed to attract a lot of attention.

In the series, a successful influencer who had been abandoned as a baby sneaks into the lives of four women who could potentially have been the biological mother who left her to live her life on the streets. She’s armed with the knowledge that the headmistress of her biological mother’s school once helped four teenaged girls abandon a baby. Now’s she’s out for the truth and revenge. The enticing series contains 18 episodes of non-stop drama.

As you can tell from the synopsis, the telenovela offers a lengthy season and an intriguing plot to really spend some time diving deep into, but considering that time commitment, each viewers’ feelings toward the series could be dependent on the ending. When you devote a decent chunk of time to a story but walk away feeling dissatisfied, it can feel like a waste of time. That’s not to say that’s the case with Pact of Silence, but that’s just to warn that your mileage may vary.

If you’re looking for a show with a longer season and a juicy plot, then you should totally give Pact of Silence a shot. However, if you’re not willingly to watch 18 episodes of a series, or even if you’re not someone who enjoys twisty dramas based on the theme of revenge, this might not be one to add to your watch list. Unless you’re in it for the dramatic long haul, feel free to skip.

Verdict: SKIP
