No, this isn’t the 2005 Disney movie of the same name about superheroes. You can watch that cult favorite over on Disney+, but you can watch the Spanish crime thriller called Sky High on Netflix. Even though that title similarity is kind of confusing, and will probably throw off a lot of millennials, Sky High is definitely worth watching for your next Netflix movie night.

Money Heist and Élite standout Miguel Herrán stars in Sky High as Ángel, a mechanic from the suburbs of Madrid who falls for Estrella (Carolina Yuste) and finds himself entering into the high-stakes world of heists. Before long, Ángel becomes the constant target of a relentless detective who’s dead-set on catching the newfound criminal in action.

Sky High, which was a box office hit in Spain at the tail end of 2020, has since become a hit for Netflix, which acquired the film for a series adaptation. Clearly, this is one movie you need to watch to get ready for the next big binge-able series to hit your watch list. If you love a good high-octane crime thriller, make sure to go sky high with Sky High.
