The Strays

Release Year: 2023

Directed by Nathaniel Martello-White

Cast: Ashley Madekwe, Bukky Bakray, Jorden Myrie, Samuel Small, Maria Almeida, and Justin Salinger

The Strays was added to Netflix on Feb. 22, 2023. Horror fans around the world have been watching the new movie, and it made it to No. 1 on Netflix US before We Have a Ghost was added to the streaming service.

The Stays picks up in a small, seemingly perfect town where Neve (Ashley Madekwe), a working mother with a great career and family. Everything is going well in her life until two strangers show up in town and start causing problems for Neve.

While popular on Netflix, The Strays is equally polarizing. The film is well-made, and the performances are quite great. Where the film starts to lose viewers appears to be on the story side of things. Now that the movie has been out for a while, it looks like the reviews keep going down. Overall, the critical approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes is middling at 52%, while the audience approval score is below 30%.

I think you might just have to watch this one for yourself and decide if it was worth it or not. We enjoyed it!
