Why is Heather Rae El Moussa barely in Selling Sunset season 7?

Heather Rae El Moussa is one of the main cast members of Selling Sunset. She’s been on the popular reality series since the very first season. But why is she missing in action for most of the seventh season? Continue reading to find out.

Heather Rae El Moussa is a real estate agent of the Oppenheim Group’s Los Angeles office. She is a former Playboy Playmate and actress who appeared in films such as The Internship and Love in the Time of Monsters. She’s currently married to real estate investor and TV personality, Tarek El Moussa. You might recognize Tarek from him co-hosting the reality series Flip or Flop with his ex-wife Christina Hall. Heather and Tarek share one child together, who was born in January 2023.

Throughout the sixth season, Heather primarily focuses on her pregnancy and work. She has some drama with the other girls, but nothing too serious. In Selling Sunset season 7, she makes an appearance a few times, but that’s about it.

How many episodes of Selling Sunset season 7 is Heather Rae El Moussa in?

Heather appears in three episodes this season. Her first appearance is in the premiere episode. She and Bre Tiesi work together to show a client a house. The next time we see her is in episode 2, when she and Bre catch up at her home. The last time Heather is shown in the seventh season is in episode 5. We find out that Heather has had her baby, and a short scene shows her holding her baby in a hospital bed while Tarek stands next to her. Although she doesn’t appear anymore in the season, a photo of her, Mary, and Chrishell is shown in a later episode.

So, why is Heather barely in Selling Sunset season 7? Well, according to her, she was never asked to come back to film. Those scenes of her in season 7 were filmed before she went on maternity leave.

In March 2023, Heather did an interview with E! News and revealed that the seventh season was filming at the time and that although she was off maternity leave, she hadn’t been asked to come back to continue filming. She told E! News, “It’s been a little frustrating. So, not sure what’s been going on.”

In October 2023, when the Selling Sunset season 7 official poster dropped, Heather reacted to being left off the poster in an Instagram post. The post reads, “Looks like I got pushed in the water… its a good thing I can swim! Congrats to my girls on S7! You may see me in a few episodes….” Some of her co-workers at the Oppenheim Group were quick to leave a comment under the post to cheer her up.

Chrishell Stause left a comment saying, “Hottie in a bikini ordering drinks at a swim up bar-take me with you. love you.” Davina Potratz’s comment reads, “You and me both.” She was also noticeably missing from the poster. Brett and Jason Oppenheim, and Emma Hernan also left sweet comments under her post.

Hopefully, Heather will return as a main cast member in a potential Selling Sunset season 8. We’ll definitely let you know if she does.
