Selling Sunset season 7 release updates and everything we know so far

Selling Sunset returned for its sixth season in May 2023, and it might be the Netflix reality show’s most dramatic season yet. Superfans of the hit series took Selling Sunset season 6 straight to the peak of the top 10, making them all the more excited for Selling Sunset season 7. And according to a new exclusive from Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming seventh season could be even more dramatic than the sixth!

The reality series premiered on Netflix in March 2019 and has become one of the most talked about Netflix original series, with the drama between the cast members extending into tabloid fodder. It’s all the makings of great television all these seasons later.

But can fans look forward to Selling Sunset season 7 after binge-watching all the twists and turns of season 6? Here’s everything we know so far about the next season!

What to expect from Selling Sunset season 7

Per EW, fans should expect plenty of “WTF moments” when the show is back. There will also be a group trip to Cabo in Mexico to visit the Oppenheim Group’s newest office.

Despite taking a step back from Oppenheim, Chrishell Stause will still be front and center in plenty of the drama. She revealed to the outlet that she is in the center of a “few of the s— shows” coming in season 7.

Remember how messy things got in Palm Springs between Stause and Nicole Young? Expect more of that in season 7.

Here’s what Strause had to say of their continued feud:

"“Her attitude continued into season 7 and so I did get a little fed up with everything. It’s one thing to kind of go after me, but then when you start to go after my friends for no reason… a s— show ensues.”"

On a lighter note, Selling Sunset season 7 will also highlight the growing bond between Stause and newcomer Bre Tiesi. The pair became friends in season 6. Tiesi says she’s gotten close to both Stause and Emma Hernan. Head to the source to see some sneak peek photos!

When will Selling Sunset season 7 premiere?

We don’t have an exact release date for Selling Sunset season 7 yet, but we do know that it’s coming this fall, likely during October.

How many seasons of Selling Sunset are there?

As of May 2023, there are currently six seasons of Selling Sunset available to stream on Netflix. The first three seasons of the reality show contain eight episodes each, while the fourth season contains 10 episodes and the fifth and six season each contain 11 episodes. Being so, there are 56 total episodes of Selling Sunset to binge-watch on Netflix right now.

Selling Sunset season 7 renewal

In June 2022, Netflix announced a double renewal for the flagship real estate reality series, ordering Selling Sunset seasons 6 and 7 at the same time. The renewal for the blockbuster series came ahead of the August 2022 premiere of spinoff Selling the OC, which was also renewed for two more seasons in January 2023.

A teaser for season 7 aired following the season 6 finale, hinting that filming has either completed or is near completion on the forthcoming new episodes. Although Selling Sunset has aired two seasons in a calendar year before or has dropped new seasons months apart, the wait between season 5 and 6 was nearly a year. However, we’re hopeful season 7 could drop by the end of 2023.

We still don’t have a confirmed release date yet, but the fact EW just ran an exclusive is a good sign that the show will return sooner rather than later.

Will return for Selling Sunset season 7?

Selling Sunset season 6 contained many of the same familiar faces fans know from the show, and most are expected to return for season 7. However, season 6 contained a glaring omission. Ahead of production for the sixth season, Christine Quinn left the series and would not appear in seasons 6 and 7.

Even with Quinn’s exit, there was still plenty of drama with these cast members, all of whom are expected back in Selling Sunset season 7:

Stause’s relationship with G Flip was featured in season 6, and they’re expected to appear again in season 7. Some are wondering whether Heather El Moussa’s appearances in season 7 could be reduced since she gave birth to a son in January 2023.
