What was Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause’s health scare?

Selling Sunset season 7 has finally landed on Netflix, and while we were happy for its return, we were saddened to find out that one of the show’s stars had recently experienced a health scare.

In a scene from the fourth episode of the season, Chrishell Stause, one of the Oppenheim Group’s top real estate agents, sits down with her best friend and fellow co-worker, Emma Hernan, to catch up.

She reveals to Emma that she has just found out that she needs to have surgery right away because she has a really huge cyst hanging off of her ovary. She explains that if it were to burst, she would be at risk of losing her whole uterus. Emma consoles Chrishell and gives her a thoughtful card before they hug.

The reality series doesn’t return to this topic until episode 5 when Chelsea Lazkani and Emma show up at Chrishell’s house to be there for her after her surgery. While Chelsea and Emma prepare to cook for Chrishell, Chrishell reveals that the surgery was successful and that she’d be getting her stitches removed soon.

If you’re a fan of Chrishell Stause, chances are you already knew what was going on with her before the show aired. Back in February 2023, it was reported that she had undergone surgery to remove an ovarian cyst.

In a now-deleted Instagram story posted in February, Chrishell shared a picture of her sitting in a hospital bed with a message saying, “Had a minor surgery today and had a large ovarian cyst removed. Thank you Dr. Hakakha for taking such good care of me. Feeling good and being looked after by my [heart emoji]. If you have bad unexplained cramps, don’t ignore it!”

Although she doesn’t specify who the “heart emoji” is, I think it’s safe to say that she was talking about her partner, G Flip.

So, it looks like the scene in episode 5 where Chrishell, Emma, and Chelsea were talking about Chrishell’s surgery was shot in February 2023. During the scene, Chrishell tells Emma and Chelsea that the cyst was noncancerous and that she is now focusing on recovery.

As the season goes on, Chrishell appears to be fine and back to normal, with her even making the Cabo trip. We’re so happy that everything is well with Chrishell!
