Is Mary Fitzgerald from Selling Sunset pregnant?

Selling Sunset is back, Netflix Lifers! This season, there’s tons of drama, but there are also moments of joy. One of those joyous moments happens in the premiere episode of the seventh season involving Mary Fitzgerald and her husband, Romain.

Mary Fitzgerald is one of the original cast members of the popular reality series. She’s been on the show since the very beginning, and what a journey she’s had so far. In Selling Sunset season 7, she pretty much takes the back seat to a lot of the drama that’s going on. Instead, her focus is more on her own life.

In Selling Sunset season 7, episode 1, we find out that Mary is pregnant. She returns home with a pregnancy test and tells Romain that her menstrual cycle had been five days late. She takes the test, and then she and Romain wait for the results. The results come back positive, and Mary later tells everyone at the office that she and Romain are expecting their first child together.

But unfortunately, it’s revealed in the sixth episode that Mary had suffered a miscarriage. Amanza Smith visits Mary and Romain at their house to comfort them, and Mary tells her what happened. She explains that she and Romain went to the hospital for an ultrasound, but when it was time to hear the baby’s heartbeat, the doctor couldn’t see a heartbeat. This was devasting news, and Amanza and the rest of the Oppenheim Group tried their best to be there for Mary and Romain.

If you’re a Selling Sunset superfan, you most likely already knew what happened to Mary Fitzgerald before the seventh season even aired. Back in March 2023, Mary opened up about her recent miscarriage via an Instagram video. In the video, she talks about how she had gotten pregnant while on her honeymoon in Bali with Romain in January 2023, but things didn’t end up working out. She explains that she had a septic miscarriage and had to have surgery for it.

Although Mary doesn’t go into detail about what a septic miscarriage is in the video, it’s when an infection develops in the uterus after miscarrying, according to Mayo Clinic. Some of the symptoms include fever, chills, pain in the lower stomach, vaginal bleeding, etc.

Mary explains in the video that the reason she decided to speak out is because she knows there are more people in the world who have experienced the same thing, and she wants them to know that they’re not alone.

She continues, “I’m gonna continue to share [my journey] because we’re going to keep trying, and I’m going to leave it at that. I’m gonna continue to share it, and we’re going to have very good news very soon. If any of you guys are also going through it, please know you’re not alone and we’re gonna get there.”

Romain left a sweet comment under the post saying, “it’s just the beginning of our journey my princess and i promise I will always be here to support you in every step of the way.” Brett Oppenheim and many of her co-workers/castmates also left sweet comments as well.

Who is Mary Fitzgerald’s son?

Mary has a son from a previous relationship named Austin. She had him when she was 16 years old, but the child’s father was not present in his life. She doesn’t post him often on her Instagram page, possibly due to privacy reasons, but in May 2022, she went to see him at his Air Force boot camp graduation along with other family members. Her most recent Instagram post of him was in May 2023. She celebrated Mother’s Day with him and other family members.
