What to expect from Pain Hustlers on Netflix
As mentioned above, Pain Hustlers stars Emily Blunt as Liza Drake and Chris Evans as Pete Brenner. Two of the actress’ most recent projects are the Get Out movies, as well as Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Her co-star Evans is of course Captain America himself. The talent is also known for Knives Out and The Gray Man, both streaming on Netflix.
Joining the duo onscreen are Jay Duplass as Larkin; Andy García as Jack Neel; Catherine O’Hara as Jackie; Brian d’Arcy James as Lydell; Chloe Coleman as Phoebe; Amit Shah as Paley; Aubrey Dollar, and Willie Raysor. Directed by David Yates, the two-hour film is Rated R for language, some sexual content, nudity, and drug use.
Pain Hustlers is centered around Liza Drake (Blunt), a single mother to a sick daughter who just lost her job and is experiencing bad luck, per the synopsis. A “chance meeting” with pharmaceutical sales rep Pete Brenner (Evans) might just change luck around. While she starts to earn money fast, Pete has also gotten her involved in a “dubious path ethically” as the new company she now works for is involved in a “dangerous” racketeering scheme. Faced with many challenges, what choices will Liza make?
