Heather McMahan’s first-ever Netflix comedy special, Heather McMahan: Son I Never Had, is now streaming, and tons of people are watching it. In fact, it seems to be the talk of the town as well. As of Oct. 18, it’s ranked at the No. 4 spot on Netflix’s top 10 TV shows list. That’s an impressive feat for a comedian debuting their first stand-up special.

Son I Never Had is an hourlong special based on the material from McMahan’s The Farewell Tour, which ran from 2021 to 2022. In the comedy special, McMahan pulls from her personal life and discusses relatable topics such as body image, drugs, sex, fertility, grief, etc. She doesn’t hold back in her special, and we enjoyed every second!

After getting a good laugh from watching McMahan take the stage at the Lexington Opera House in Son I Never Had, you might find yourself wanting to know more about the comedian. No worries. Below, we shared McMahan’s net worth and several fun facts about her.

What is Heather McMahan’s estimated net worth?

The comedian’s exact net worth is not public knowledge, but it is believed to be somewhere around $1 million. This net worth comes from her acting, stand-up comedy, and other business ventures. She most likely makes money from her Absolutely Not podcast as well. She also has a lot of followers on Instagram, so she probably has sponsorship deals from different companies. This would add to her total net worth.

Here are some quick facts about the comedian.

  • Age: 36 years old
  • Instagram: @heatherkmcmahan
  • Relationship status: She’s married to an entrepreneur named Jeff Daniels.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Heather McMahan moved to Mississippi to study performing arts at the University of Mississippi before moving to California to study at UCB Los Angeles. Like many creatives, it wasn’t easy for McMahan to break into the entertainment industry. She spent years perfecting her stand-up in both Los Angeles and New York. She even began posing comedic skits on Instagram that many people tuned in to watch.

In 2019, she launched her Absolutely Not podcast which has seen much success over the years. She had also spent several years creating a pilot based on her own life for Peacock, but unfortunately, the streaming service passed on it. However, when one door closes another opens because McMahan now has a separate development deal for NBC.

Have you seen her act? McMahan has also been in several movies and TV shows. As of October 2023, she is currently on the final leg of her comedy tour called The Comeback Tour.

What happened to Heather McMahan’s dad?

On Dec. 23, 2015, McMahan lost her father, Kyle McMahan, to pancreatic cancer. They had learned of his cancer diagnosis just days prior. After losing her dad, McMahan put her acting and comedy career on hold and moved back to Atlanta to live with her mother, Robin. While it was meant to be a temporary stay to help her mom and sister, Ashley, with the grieving process, she ended up staying longer.

She told Glamour in a 2019 interview that she fell into a deep depression after her father’s death. She had even lost her passion for acting and comedy, so she changed her career path. She applied for the position of flight attendant with Delta Airlines but was rejected. She knew then that her calling was to be a comedian and actress. So, she continued to pursue her dreams.

Heather McMahan movies and TV shows

McMahan doesn’t have a ton of acting credits to her name just yet, but with as much talent as she has, I can definitely see her taking on many different roles soon. Her biggest role to date was playing Kerry in the Netflix rom-com Love Hard. She played Nina Dobrev’s character’s best friend.

Her other roles include playing characters in the TV shows Zoe Ever After and If Loving You Is Wrong. You might also recognize her from her roles in the movies Merry Ex-MasFamily and The Trap. She also voiced a character in the Bone, Marry, Bury podcast series.

Once she wraps up her comedy tour, I’m sure we’ll start hearing more about what’s next for her.
