Old Dads synopsis: What is the Netflix movie about?

Bill Burr is one of the best comedians out there. He’s one of my favorites to listen to! And it’s always great when comedians also do shows and movies. Lucky for us, the talent has a new comedy film coming out on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023 right here on Netflix.

Old Dads is all about three best friends, Jack Kelly (Burr), Connor Brody, and Mike Richards, who are business partners and all had kids later in life, per the synopsis. They have to navigate the challenges of preschool, millennial CEOs, and figure out how anything made after 1987 works.

I can already tell this is sure to be a laugh-out-loud production! But there’s a sentimental side to the story as well. The fathers are going to have to work hard to “win back their families and self-respect” as well. Check out the full description and trailer below:

What you need to know about Old Dads starring Bill Burr

Burr isn’t just taking the lead onscreen, the whole movie comes from his creative mind! Old Dads marks the comedian and actor’s feature film directorial debut. He also co-wrote the script and serves as an executive producer. This is the first time he pens a feature film script as well.

Joining him onscreen as fellow fathers and besties are Bobby Cannavale as Connor Brody, and Bokeem Woodbine as Mike Richards. With all the challenges this trio are facing mentioned above, there’s still more in store for them. Burr’s character Jack has anger issues, which gets him in trouble and effects his relationship. Connor tries too hard to be cool, not accepting that he’s gotten older. When it comes to Mike, he starts to struggle when his much younger girlfriend is pregnant, per Netflix.
