Sweet Tooth season 2
The wait is over, Sweet Tooth fans! The highly-anticipated second season landed on Netflix on Thursday, April 27.
It had been over a year since the first season was released, so fans of the fantasy series were more than ready to see the story continue in new episodes. Based on the DC comic of the same name by Jeff Lemire comes a show taking place in a post-apocalyptic setting where human-animal hybrids exist. The story centers around a young boy named Gus, who’s half-human and half-deer. He, along with Jepperd, the lone traveler he befriends after he’s saved by him from poachers, embarks on a journey to find Gus’s mother while gaining allies along the way.
Christian Convery plays the role of Gus, and Nonso Anozie portrays Tommy Jepperd. Adeel Akhtar, Will Forte, Stefania LaVie Owen, Dania Ramirez, Aliza Vellani, and Neil Sandilands are also in the cast with James Brolin as narrator.
Sweet Tooth season 2 consists of another eight episodes that are about an hour each. Netflix shared what the second season is about and we shared it below.
"As a deadly new wave of the Sick bears down, Gus (Christian Convery) and a band of fellow hybrids are held prisoner by General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men. Looking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as fodder for the experiments of captive Dr. Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar), who’s racing to save his infected wife Rani (Aliza Vellani). To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, beginning a dark journey into his origins and his mother Birdie’s (Amy Seimetz) role in the events leading up to The Great Crumble. Outside the Preserve, Tommy Jepperd (Nonso Anozie) and Aimee Eden (Dania Ramirez ) team up to break the hybrids free, a partnership that will be tested as Jepperd’s secrets come to light. As the revelations of the past threaten the possibility of redemption in the present, Gus and his found family find themselves on a collision course with Abbot and the evil forces that look to wipe them out once and for all."
Caden Dragomer, Craig Hall, Erroll Shand, Amie Donald, Christopher Sean Cooper Jr., and Yonas Kibreab play new characters in the second season. Some of the new characters are Finn Fox, Wally Walrus, Haley Mockingbird, and JoJo Cat. Cooper plays Teddy Turtle, and Kibreab portrays Finn Fox.
