Love Is Blind season 5: Are Milton and Lydia still together?

The fifth of Love Is Blind was truly a whirlwind, and an anomaly, as only two couples made it to the altar. Ultimately, the Love Is Blind season 5 finale came down to James Milton Johnson IV and Lydia Arleen Vélez González, plus Stacy Snyder and Ismael “Izzy” Zapata. One couple said “I do,” and one split at the altar.

It might have come as a surprise to many, but Milton and Lydia did get married. I don’t know about you, but I never got the vibe that Milton actually wanted to tie the knot, but he does indeed say "yes" to Lydia. Milton even got ahead of himself at the altar and kissed his new bride before they exchanged the rings, which seemed kind of perfectly indicative of his young age.

Their wedding was certainly a more hopeful and sweet note to end on than how things settled between Izzy and Stacy. Now that Love Is Blind season 6 is gearing up to premiere, I'm sure viewers will be curious to find out what Milton and Lydia are up to now and the good news is that, yes, the pair are still happily married!

Milton and Lydia are making their marriage work despite being long-distance now

In October 2023, Lydia spoke with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that while she and her husband are still together, they're dealing with a new obstacle now as they're living apart from one another. Lydia revealed that Milton had gotten relocated to Long Beach in California for his job whereas she is still based in Houston, Texas (that's over 1,500 miles apart!).

"Right now we're really focused on our careers — I got a new job, it just started a month ago, he has a new job, has been there for a year but he just got relocated to Long Beach actually. We are trying to get used to this new schedule and he's also doing his MBA. He loves to go to school, apparently, this is his second master's. We are just trying to really thrive in our careers."

For now, the two are really focused on their respective careers and haven't considered starting a family just yet. Lydia said the two are "so in love," but not quite ready to have children, though they do hope to in the future.

"We're not there, we are not in our full potential yet. But yes, it is in our plans to form a family, have a baby. That'll come along the way," she told the outlet.

Milton and Lydia are still going strong as of February 2024

Even though that interview was last year, we checked in on the pair in February 2024 and it looks like things are still going swimmingly for them! They recent did a couples' photoshoot and even went on a little vacation to North Carolina where they did a very Lydia-and-Milton thing—attended the rock museum of course!
