Encounters

WATCH! The recently released investigative docuseries Encounters is currently at number one on the top Netflix shows. This series is a four-part Netflix original told from firsthand experiencers at locations around the globe where the alien sightings took place.

The Devil’s Plan

Skip! The new Korean reality series, The Devil’s Plan, has released the first four episodes, with additional episodes released on Oct. 3 and 10. The 12 contestants are challenged with mind-bending games of wit hosted by a pixelated-faced host. The concept sounds intriguing, but the episodes spend more time explaining how the game is played than actual gameplay time. You can skip this one.

The Pacific

WATCH! The Pacific is a companion series to the critically acclaimed HBO series Band of Brothers. This series highlights the heroics of the 1st Marine Division’s battles in the Pacific during WWII. These battles include Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa. This series is inspired by the memoirs of US Marines Eugene Sledge, Robert Leckie, and Chuck Tatum.

Who Killed Jill Dando?

SKIP! The three-part docuseries Who Killed Jill Dando? looks at the high-profile death of BBC’s news reporter Jill Dando. Her murder took place in 1999 and has yet to be solved. Even though her stalker, Barry George, had been arrested and tried twice, he was eventually acquitted. The story is interesting, but this series reveals nothing new about the case. Diehard true crime fans may find it appealing, but otherwise skip it.

One Piece season 1

WATCH! The acclaimed fantasy adventure One Piece is a live-action adaptation of the popular manga series. The story follows the Straw Hat Pirates and their exploration of dangerous oceans, lands, and more as they seek the fabled treasure known as One Piece. This series is enjoyed by manga fans as well as people who don’t even know what that is. The series has been renewed for a second season, so don’t miss this one.
