Purple Hearts soundtrack breaks Netflix record (and you won’t believe the shocking amount it’s made)

Purple Hearts was a smash hit when it was dropped on Netflix in July 2022. In fact, it was the third most-watched movie of 2022. Now, it’s been over a year since its release, and Sofia Carson and Nicholas Galitzine still have our purple hearts. We deeply miss Cassie and Luke and are keeping our fingers crossed that a Purple Hearts 2 eventually happens so that we can see their love story continue.

Before the romance film, Carson and Galitzine were already known in the entertainment industry. Carson had previously starred as Evie in the Disney Channel fantasy film Descendants and its sequels. Also, she starred as Ava Jalali in the short-lived mystery drama series Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. She had even made her Netflix debut in the family movie Feel the Beat.

Galitzine, on the other hand, had starred in movies such as High Strung, Handsome Devil, The Craft: Legacy and Cinderella. However, he became more widely known when he took on the role of US Marine Lance Corporal Luke Morrow in Purple Hearts. Now, he’s rising to the top of stardom, and everyone’s beginning to know his name.

Purple Hearts officially has the most popular Netflix soundtrack

According to research done by digital headphones magazine Headphonesty, Purple Hearts takes the crown as having the most streamed Netflix soundtrack on Spotify. Headphonesty analyzed every soundtrack on Spotify from a Netflix original series or movie to determine the most popular soundtracks and their estimated royalties. In the end, their findings saw Purple Hearts placing first.

According to Headphonesty findings, the hit romance film’s soundtrack currently has more than 238 million streams (238,267,806 to be exact) on Spotify, making an estimated $567,077 in royalties. “Come Back Home,” which is the lead single from the soundtrack, is reportedly the most streamed song, with more than 103 million streams.

Sofia Carson co-wrote four of the songs from the soundtrack with Grammy nominee Justin Tranter. Those songs are “Come Back Home,” “I Hate the Way,” “Blue Side of the Sky,” and “I Didn’t Know.” Since Carson not only starred in the movie but also played a major part in the songwriting process, I’m sure she got paid a pretty penny for her contributions.
