Sex Education season 4 cast guide: Who’s who in the fourth season?
School’s back in session, but this time around, it’s not at Moordale Secondary School. In Sex Education season 4, Otis, Eric, and the rest of the former Moordale students attend a new school by the name of Cavendish Sixth Form College, and it’s not what they were expecting at all. Meanwhile, Maeve is living her dream in America, studying in a gifted and talented program at a prestigious college.
As expected, Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa reprise their roles as Otis and Eric in the fourth season. Otis’s mother Jean, played by Gillian Anderson, also returns. You can also expect to see Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Mimi Keene, Aimee Lou Wood, Kedar Williams-Stirling, and many others reprise their roles in the final season.

Asa Butterfield as Otis Milburn
Otis was just an awkward teen boy when we meet him in season 1. However, he eventually becomes the co-founder of the sex clinic at Moordale Secondary School. He was one of the people to go to on campus if students had questions about sex. After the sex clinic was closed down, Otis began focusing on other things, but now he’s ready to start it up again. But it’s not going to be easy to create a sex clinic at his new school, Cavendish Sixth Form College. He also struggles with having a long-distance relationship with Maeve in the fourth season.

Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley
Maeve ends the third season by leaving the U.K. for the United States to attend a prestigious college for a months-long gifted and talented program. Although she’s enjoying her time abroad, she deeply misses her boyfriend Otis.

Ncuti Gatwa as Eric Effiong
Eric is Otis’s best friend whose the life of the party. He’s always there to bring up the mood with his infectious energy. Although he’s out to most people, he’s still not out to people at his church. In Sex Education season 4, Eric joins the popular clique at Cavendish and has fun being his true self. He and Adam break up in the season 3 finale, but will they get back together in season 4?

Connor Swindells as Adam Groff
Adam wasn’t the nicest person when we meet him in Sex Education season 1. However, when he comes out as bisexual and begins dating Eric, we get to see a new side to him and understand why he was treating people horribly. But everything comes tumbling down for Adam when Eric reveals to him that he cheated on him while he was in Nigeria in the third season. They break up in the season 3 finale, and Adam is left wondering if school is really for him.

Aimee Lou Wood as Aimee Gibbs
Aimee spends most of the third season trying to be there for her best friend Maeve while also trying to overcome the sexual assault she went through in the second season by talking to Jean. This continues on into the fourth and final season. It’ll be interesting to see how Aimee’s story wraps up.

Mimi Keene as Ruby Matthews
Ruby was the most popular student at Moordale Secondary School and the leader of the clique the Untouchables. But when she arrives at Cavendish, she quickly learns that the school hierarchy is in no way similar to how Mooordale’s was. Ruby and Otis dated in the third season, but ultimately broke things off after Ruby told Otis she loved him and he didn’t say it back. Could they have a chance of getting back together in season 4?

George Robison as Isaac Goodwin
Isaac is introduced in the second season of the teen series. He and his brother Joe move to the Caravan Park and become neighbors with Maeve. He eventually starts dating Maeve, but their relationship ends after it comes out that Maeve and Otis kissed on the school trip to France in the third season. Isaac’s an art student at Cavendish, so we’ll be seeing a lot of him in season 4. Will he end up with anyone by the end of the season?

Chinenye Ezeudu as Vivienne Odusanya
Vivienne aka Viv is Jackson’s best friend. She’s very smart and her main focus is on succeeding in school so that she can one day attend a prestigious university.

Kedar Williams-Stirling as Jackson Marchetti
Jackson was the swimming champion at Moordale Secondary School, but due to persistent panic attacks and pressure, he decided to stop swimming. He’s also the former boyfriend of Maeve, but they broke up after he realized that Maeve had feelings for Otis. He eventually befriends Viv in season 2 and Cal in season 3. But his feelings for Cal eventually turn into something more romantic. However, he and Cal decide to remain friends instead of taking things further in their friendship.

Dua Saleh as Cal Bowman
Cal is introduced in Sex Education season 3. They’re non-binary, and how they identify causes an uproar at Moordale in the third season. However, Cal eventually befriends Jackson and has his support. Although Cal and Jackson’s relationship doesn’t end up going anywhere past friendship, Cal tries their best to keep Jackson as a friend. In Sex Education season 4, Cal develops romantic feelings for a student named Aisha at Cavendish Sixth Form College. I wonder what Jackson will think about this.

Gillian Anderson as Jean Milburn
Who’s the father of Jean’s baby? This is the question we all want the answer to, and hopefully, it’s revealed in the fourth season. In Sex Education season 4, Jean isn’t doing well after experiencing a complicated pregnancy. Her confidence isn’t as high and she’s struggling to take care of her new baby without help from Jakob (revealed not to be the baby’s father). However, she’s trying her best to snap back and decides to try her hand at hosting a sex and relationship radio show.

Thomas Molloy is Maeve’s college tutor at the elite Wallace University in the U.S. He’s openly queer and a famous author.

Abbi is trans and the leader of the Coven. She’s the most popular student at Cavendish, and very loyal to those she loves.
