Surviving Summer is one of the top shows on Netflix in September 2023. Fans waited more than a year to watch Surviving Summer season 2, which premiered on Netflix on Sept. 15, 2023.

There are eight episodes in season 2. If you’re looking for what happened at the end of Surviving Summer season 2 and want a little bit more information about the ending, you landed at the right place. We shared the Surviving Summer season 2 ending and what it means for Surviving Summer season 3 on Netflix.

Surviving Summer season 2 ending

Everything crumbles in the Surviving Summer season 2 finale, titled “Send It,” for Team Victoria, but it’s been brewing all season between Elo, Summer, Baxter, Wren, Ari, and the rest of the team.

Elo’s big secret about why they actually left Queensland is revealed by Summer after Elo lectures Ari following his anxiety-filled heat at Nationals. Ari doesn’t catch a wave during his heat, which sets off Elo. Summer, then, sticks up for Ari and reveals Elo and Wren’s secret to the team, who then turns on Elo and stops her from being the coach.

Do Wren and Ari break up?

Ari has a panic attack immediately after, but it’s not about the surfing. His feelings for Summer and lack of feelings for Wren boils over, and he breaks up with Wren on the spot. Ari confesses his feelings to his family and Margot, Summer’s mom. It looks like all things are looking good for

After breaking up with Wren, Ari tries to bring the team back together with more heats left. It works. Ari and Summer bring the team back together with some less than stellar dance moves.

Does Ari, Summer, and Team Victoria win Nationals?

No, Team Victoria doesn’t win Nationals, but they come close. After Marlon rescued Poppy’s treasured goat after the team from New South Wales pranked Team Victoria, he performs well at Nationals, and so do Poppy and Bodhi. Summer also does well, but Wren steals a wave from her, which costs Summer and the team the chance to win Nationals.

Team Queensland wins the competition, while Team Victoria comes in second.

Do Summer and Ari get together in Surviving Summer season 2?

After a lot of awkward tension between Summer and Ari throughout the entire season, Ari finally breaks things off with Wren, which is definitely the right decision for him. Wren was bad news.

At the end of Surviving Summer season 2, Summer and Ari do eventually get together. Two seasons worth of set up finally gets the moment it deserves. Will we ever get to see these two really together for a full season? That’s up to Netflix and the creative team to decide.

Is Surviving Summer season 3 happening?

Surviving Summer has not been renewed for season 3, as of September 2023. That’s not surprising. Netflix typically collects streaming and viewership data for at least amonth or so before announcing any decisions. Obviously, there are exceptions. We’ve seen some big shows pick up renewals before seasons drop or immediately after if they’re big hits, but that’s not the norm for Netflix.

Based on how the second season ends, there’s definitely a chance we could see Surviving Summer return for season 3. There’s so much more surfing left to do.

There are still a lot of questions remaining, too, about these relationships and what’s next for these characters. While we got some resolution, there’s definitely more to this story. It just can’t be the series finale!
