Welcome to the weekend. There is no better time to enjoy some outstanding Netflix shows. This week, 22 new titles have been added to the streamer, including the new season of Surviving Summer. Below is a list of great shows to watch this weekend, including two to skip.

Unsurprisingly, the highly anticipated new season of Virgin River holds the number one spot this week on the Top 10 Netflix Shows list. Other top shows include Dear Child, Selling the OC, Who is Erin Carter, and the fantastic new fantasy adventure One Piece, which has been renewed for a second season.

Surviving Summer season 2

WATCH! Season 2 of Surviving Summer will be another great Aussie adventure for Summer as she returns to Shorehaven. She’s polished her surfing skills and is ready to reunite with her Aussie mates and show them what she has learned. Things heat up when Summer makes the State Team who are competing in Nationals. Her prior relationship with Ari makes things difficult for Summer as his new girl, Wren, is also on the team.

Ancient Aliens seasons 6 and 7

SKIP! Two more seasons of Ancient Aliens have been added to Netflix, with season 5 also available. This series “explores the pseudoscientific hypothesis of ancient astronauts in a non-critical, documentary format.” The series also dives into lost civilizations, extraterrestrial contact, and conspiracy theories. At the same time, the series has been criticized for promoting unproven hypotheses as factual and overwhelming the viewer with fictions and distortions in its content. You can skip this one.

Glow Up season 5

WATCH! Glow Up is a British reality series whose objective is to find the best make-up artists vying for a chance at a career in the beauty industry. The contestants are judged by industry professionals Dominic Skinner and Val Garland, joined weekly by new guest stars. This season, Leomie Anderson is the presenter who guides the competitors through weekly challenges. Don’t miss the fascinating creations, which are much more than just traditional makeup, created by competitors who truly are up-and-coming talents.

Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons (Season 7)

SKIP! Four new episodes of Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons are now streamable. This docuseries sees investigative journalists who volunteer to become inmates. They look inside prisons worldwide from the prisoners’ perspective with input from guards and others involved in the prison systems hosted by Raphael Rowe, who was wrongly imprisoned for 12 years before being acquitted. While this series will interest some, others may not be able to handle the truth of the brutality. Skip it!

The Pacific limited series

WATCH! The HBO original series The Pacific, now streaming on Netflix, is a companion series to the 2010 series Band of Brothers. The critically acclaimed series holds a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes and was by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman. The Pacific is based on accounts of Marines in WWII and follows the intertwining journeys of three U.S. Marines.
