After 6: Will there be more After movies?

Get ready to see Hardin and Tessa’s love story continue in After Everything, releasing in US theaters for a limited time from Sept. 13 to Sept. 14 and later on Netflix. But will there be a sixth installment of the After film series? We shared everything we know about an After 6 down below.

The After film series is based on Anna Todd’s After book series. The first film, After, was released in US theaters in 2019 and quickly built a fanbase. Although it wasn’t received well by critics, it still fared well financially and most moviegoers enjoyed it. This is why we’ve seen more and more After movies being released.

There are five After films so far with After Everything being the fifth movie. It follows Hardin as he struggles with writer’s block and moving forward from his breakup with Tessa. He travels to Portugal to find himself and meet up with a woman from his past in an attempt to make her forgive him. Hardin’s not over Tessa, and he’s determined to win her back. But in order to successfully do this, he must change his ways for good.

With the release of After Everything, people can’t help but wonder if this will be the last time they’ll see Hardin and Tessa on their screens. Is After 5 the last movie in the After film series? Here’s what we know.

After 6: Will there be more After movies?

Unfortunately, there will not be an After 6. This means there won’t be any more After films. After Everything aka After 5 was previously announced to be the fifth and final installment in the After movie series. So, you’ll see Hardin and Tessa’s love story wrap up in the fifth movie.

Don’t worry, though. Although we won’t be seeing any more After movies, we will be seeing a prequel and a sequel in the future. The prequel movie is loosely based on Todd’s hit novel Before but with an expanded plot. It will follow Hardin’s early life before he met Tessa. Sadly, Hero Fiennes Tiffin will not reprise his role as Hardin in the film. An official release date hasn’t been announced yet.

The sequel movie will focus on Hardin and Tessa’s kids, Emery and Auden, and their cousin Addy. But while Hardin and Tessa will be in the movie as supporting characters, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Josephine Langford will not be reprising the roles. A release date for this film has not been announced either.

It’s unknown if the prequel and sequel will ever arrive on Netflix, but we’ll be sure to let you know if this happens.
