If you’re ready for even more Virgin River after the release of 10 new episodes in September, then prepare for a special second helping this fall. Virgin River season 5 was split into two parts, the first part being 10 episodes and the second part consisting of two holiday episodes.
Since the show takes place on a rather compact and real-time timeline, fans have been waiting a long time for some Virgin River Christmas episodes. But the holidays have finally come to our favorite small town, and there’s a lot for the characters to celebrate.

Virgin River season 5 Christmas episodes release date
Following the Sept. 7 release of Virgin River season 5 part 1, which contains the season’s first 10 episodes, the Virgin River Christmas episodes premiere on Thursday, Nov. 30. There are two episodes being released that day, and they are titled “Father Christmas” and “The More the Merrier.”
As with all Netflix new releases, the two holiday episodes will be released at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 30 on the coasts of the United States. For more Virgin River release times, check out when the episodes will be released in your area based on time zone.

In the first teaser trailer for Virgin River season 5 part 2, the events of the two holiday episodes are teased, and it’s exactly how you would expect Christmas in Virgin River to go. Keeping in tradition with quirky town customs, there’s a Christmas tree decorating competition. Before the episodes are released, it’s time to place bets on who wins!
Elsewhere in the pair of special episodes, Mel starts the search for her biological father in Virgin River, with new information in the trailer revealing that the man suspected to be her father still lives in the town. Lizzie worries about whether she’ll be a good mother, and Charmaine seemingly finally gives birth to her twins with a little help from Mel.

Considering season 5 episode 10 ended with a number of cliffhangers, there’s so much more to discover in the pair of holiday episodes. After all, Preacher could be in a tricky situation with Kaia following the discovery of the buried body, and according to the part 2 trailer, there are still some lingering feelings between Brie and Brady. It will definitely be a Virgin River holiday to remember.
