Does Mike die in Virgin River season 5? (spoilers)

Even though Virgin River might be one of the coziest and most comforting shows on Netflix, there’s so much drama that goes far behind the romance genre of the series. In Virgin River season 5, the drug dealing and money laundering storyline reaches its climax, and a beloved character gets caught in the crosshairs of the ultimate showdown.

Throughout season 5, Brie and Mike become closer as Brie pulls away from Brady due his involvement with Melissa’s schemes. Of course, Brie doesn’t know the full truth and therein lies the problem. Brady and Mike were secretly working together to bring Melissa down, even though they both have feelings for the same woman. It’s complicated!

The final episode of season 5 part 1 features the aforementioned showdown, but it’s not as simple as they had hoped. Mike has a close call, but does he die at the end of the season? Here’s what fans need to know about Mike’s fate in season 5.

Does Mike die in Virgin River season 5?

Thankfully, Mike does not die in Virgin River season 5. In the beginning of season 5 episode 10, Mike arrives on the scene to help arrest Melissa and save Brady and Jack from her footman. Although he shoots one of the footman, Mike also gets shot in the altercation. The bullet goes into his chest, near his heart, and for a minute, it looked bad for Mike.

While he remained unconscious in the hospital for a significant amount of time and lost a lot of blood, Mike pulls through and wakes up with Brie by his side. And although you might have had a bad feeling during his and Brie’s first date in the hospital over milkshakes, his fate doesn’t change after that moment. Mike does not die from his gunshot in season 5.

That’s great news for those that love Mike and Brie together. Now with the dangerous situation behind them, the pair can finally act on their feelings for each other and be an official couple. After all, Brie doesn’t appear to want to get back together with Brady anytime soon, and he’s seemingly moving on with Lark anyway. At the end of the day, we’re glad everyone involved is safe.
