The Ultimatum season 1 couples: Which couples are still together? Where are they now?

The complete first season of The Ultimatum is available to stream on Netflix! If you watched the reunion special, you were probably just as shocked as us to find out what happened with the cast after the show ended.

The season 1 finale and reunion special dropped on the streamer in April 2022, and fans flocked to Netflix to see how everything wrapped up. In the finale, viewers find out if the remaining couples get engaged or break up for good. They also find out if some participants get together with their trial marriage partners. The finale was very entertaining, but no one could’ve prepared us for the explosive and drama-filled reunion.

Co-hosts Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey sit down with the cast one last time to discuss all that happened after the show wrapped. In the reunion, we find out which couples are still engaged or together and really see what the cast has been up to.

Since it’s been some time since the first season ended its run, you might be wondering where the cast is today in 2023. No worries! We gave a rundown on which couples are still together and where they are now as of August 2023 right below.

Are Madlyn and Colby still together after The Ultimatum season 1?

In the season 1 finale, viewers watch Madlyn and Colby get engaged. They leave the show with a brighter future ahead as an engaged couple. Then, viewers find out during the reunion that Madlyn and Colby are still together and actually hitched. But what shocked us all was the baby bump Madlyn has.

Madlyn reveals she’s seven months pregnant and that they’re having a girl. Colby and Madlyn couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear about their pregnancy. Colby even compliments Madlyn on how she’s handled her pregnancy “like a pro.” The married couple was then gifted a silver goblet sippy cup from Nick and Vanessa.

In May 2022, Madlyn and Colby welcomed a baby girl named Josie. Then, in January 2023, they announced to the world that they were expecting a second baby. In March 2023, the baby was revealed to be a boy.

In May 2023, Madlyn celebrated Colby’s birthday and their two-year wedding anniversary by taking a weekend vacation in their hometown. On Aug. 1, Madlyn posted photos of them together at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa for date night on her Instagram page. Now, it looks like they’re just waiting on the arrival of their bundle of joy. This is if Madlyn hasn’t already had the baby yet. We’ll update you with this information if it’s ever revealed.

Are Shanique and Randall still together after The Ultimatum season 1?

Yes, Shanique and Randall are still together. In fact, they’re re-engaged! In the reunion special, Vanessa Lachey notices that Shanique isn’t wearing her engagement ring. Shanique goes on to say that the problems that she and Randall had prior to the show were still prevalent when they left the show. This caused them to break up for six months. While on break, Randall didn’t date anyone because he was dealing with the loss of three important people in his life. And when he realized that Shanique was by his side the entire time, he knew she was the one for him. They decided to get back together but did not get engaged again right away.

In July 2023, Randall popped the question again and Shanique said yes. They appear to still be engaged as of August 2023 with no wedding date made public knowledge yet.

Are Lauren and Nathan still together after The Ultimatum season 1?

Lauren and Nathan were one of the first couples to get engaged in The Ultimatum. At the reunion, they revealed that they were still engaged and had sought expert advice to help them decide if they wanted kids. Lauren announced that she and Nathan plan to have one child.

In October 2022, Lauren and Nate officially got married. Lauren revealed via an Instagram post that she and Nathan are planning to have a baby when she turns 33 years old. As of August 2023, Lauren and Nathan are still happily married. They recently spent some time in Mexico to attend a friend’s wedding.

Are Alexis and Hunter still together after The Ultimatum season 1?

Alexis and Hunter were the first couple to get engaged on the show. During the reunion, viewers discovered that they were still engaged and were planning their wedding. Hunter told The Ultimatum cast that his mom was their wedding planner. Alexis mentioned that they planned to get married in June. She also mentioned how she doesn’t focus on the financial aspect of their relationship anymore. She came to a realization that there are better things to focus on.

On June 18, 2022, Alexis and Hunter got married. They currently live in California with their dog after moving from Texas. Based on their Instagram pages, it looks like they enjoy traveling together. In June 2023, Alexis posted two cute photos of them together near the Eiffel Tower in Paris on her Instagram. It was a way of commemorating their one-year wedding anniversary. In August 2023, they attended a Taylor Swift concert together.

It’s unknown if Alexis and Hunter plan on having kids anytime soon, but we’ll let you know if this is ever revealed.

Rae and Zay from The Ultimatum season 1 now

After splitting up with April, Jake meets up with Rae and presents her with two tickets to anywhere in the world in the season 1 finale. He never officially asks Rae to be his girlfriend, but it’s easily understood that she is.

At the reunion, it’s revealed that Rae and Jake decided not to go on the trip and aren’t together. Rae says, “We kind of came to a consensus that everybody needed time to heal.” She also revealed that she had been in one relationship since filming wrapped and it was with a woman. She talked about how she had been uncomfortable with being bisexual but was now in a good place with her sexuality.

We also find out that Rae and Zay tried to give their relationship another go after the show, but ultimately it didn’t work out. Zay hadn’t dated anyone since his split with Rae and was trying to figure out what he wanted in life. He later appears on Netflix’s Perfect Match but doesn’t end up with anyone.

As of August 2023, Rae looks to be dating a mystery man. She posted him on her TikTok page for the first time in July 2023. However, Zay’s relationship status is unknown. What we do know is that he’s been spending his time doing what he loves which is playing sports.

April and Jake from The Ultimatum season 1 now

In the finale, viewers see Jake tell his original partner, April, that he’s still not ready for marriage, and they go their separate ways. But after the show, April moved back in with Jake for several months despite knowing that their relationship was over.

April revealed that she’s in a serious relationship with a man that wants the same things in life: marriage and kids. The mystery man’s name is later revealed to be Cody Cooper and he’s a real estate broker.

In February 2023, April announced that she and Cody were expecting their first child. In August 2023, they welcomed a baby girl named Mila Aven Cooper. On Aug. 20, April posted a cute video of Cody carrying Mila in her carrier as they leave the hospital. The caption to the Instagram post reads, “Waited 9 months for this moment! Don’t mind me fan girling over these 2 for the rest of my life.”

But while we know what’s going on in April’s life, it’s unclear if Jake is dating anyone at the moment since he’s been staying under the radar since the show wrapped.
