Red, White and Royal Blue, the Amazon Prime Video original movie based on the best-selling novel by Casey McQuiston, began streaming in August 2023, and its adoring fandom wasted no time in watching Alex and Henry fall in love on screen.

Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, who have each starred in hit Netflix original movies, bring the star-crossed president’s son and Prince of England to life so lovably and perfectly. The film (and book) takes the pair from enemies to lovers in a sweeping story that will make you swoon.

If you can’t get enough of Red, White and Royal Blue and are looking for some additional titles to watch before your next rewatch of the movie (or re-read of the book), there are plenty of Netflix shows and movies to watch, including those starring Zakhar Perez and Galitzine.

Netflix shows and movies to watch if you love Red, White and Royal Blue

Here are seven Netflix shows and movies worth adding to your watch list when you need an extra hit of romance, royalty, or both! Let’s beginning with the blissful teen romantic dramedy series Heartstopper.

Heartstopper season 2

Heartstopper

Think of Heartstopper’s Nick and Charlie like a younger version of Alex Henry, except they aren’t the children or grandchildren of two of the most prominent political figures in the world. In the latest season, Nick grapples with coming out as bisexual to his family and friends beyond their trusted inner circle. It’s not easy on Nick and Charlie, but their relationship remains strong and adorable and super aspirational. Add Heartstopper to your watch list for a wholesome, feel-good binge-watch that’s full of amazing and beautiful inclusivity.

Young Royals

As promised, the intersection of romance and royalty arrives in the form of Young Royals, Netflix’s fan-favorite Swedish teen drama series. Young Royals centers on Prince Wilhelm coming into his own at a new boarding school, and that includes a romance with Simon Eriksson. Viewers simply can’t get enough of this show, and luckily for its fans, the third and final season is on its way soon. Make sure to binge-watch all 12 episodes of seasons 1 and 2 now on Netflix.

Purple Hearts

The Netflix original blockbuster movie Purple Hearts might not be representative of the LGBTQ+ community or feature royalty, but it does feature lots of romance and Red, White and Royal Blue star Nicholas Galitzine. The talented actor stars alongside Sofia Carson as an injured Marine who marries his exact opposite. Along the way, they find common ground in their love for each other. If you need more Galitzine after seeing him as Prince Henry, check him out in the massive hit movie that fans still haven’t stopped talking about.

The Kissing Booth 2

As with the above title, if you need a bit more Taylor Zakhar Perez in your life after watching him bring the chaotic bi king Alex Claremont-Diaz to life in the Amazon Prime Video movie, check out his breakthrough movie role in the Netflix original movie The Kissing Booth 2. Zakhar Perez makes his debut as Marco, who’s described in the movie as a “snack,” and returns for the third and final film in the trilogy. There’s no royalty but there is plenty of romance, and by the end of it, you will probably screaming for justice for Marco. He deserved better!

XO, Kitty - Netflix shows

XO, Kitty

In the mood for queer romance, fun settings, and rom-com shenanigans? Well, Netflix has quite the treat in XO, Kitty. The streamer debuted the series spinoff of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film trilogy in April 2023, and fans around the world adored Kitty’s journey toward young love just as much as they did her sister’s. Lara Jean and Peter might be around, but you won’t even miss them in this charming teen romantic comedy. And even better? There’s going to be a second season, so there’s a payoff to binge-watching the enjoyable first season.

The Royal Treatment

A fellow romantic comedy about an American falling in love with a prince, the 2022 Netflix original movie The Royal Treatment stars Laura Marano and Mena Massoud and might be one of the streamer’s most underrated rom-coms. When a hairdresser works at the prince’s royal wedding, she and the prince find themselves catching feelings for each other that could ultimately cause the prince to call his duty to his country into question. It’s just a delightful little movie!

A Christmas Prince

Obviously, one of the most popular Netflix original movie trilogies is A Christmas Prince, which saw the star-crossed characters through to their royal wedding in the sequel and the birth of their own little princess in the second sequel. It’s much different from RWRB, but it’s full of romance and royalty nonetheless, and there’s three holiday-themed movies to watch back-to-back-to-back on Netflix in December or whenever.

Watch all of the above movies and shows only on Netflix, and watch Red, White and Royal Blue only on Amazon Prime Video.
