When is Ballers starring Dwayne Johnson coming to Netflix?
After seeing all five seasons of the HBO series Insecure drop on Netflix on July 3, Netflix subscribers couldn’t wait to see what other HBO shows would be coming to the streamer in the future. Well, it looks like the next HBO show scheduled to land on Netflix is the Dwayne Johnson-led sports drama series, Ballers.
Ballers premiered on HBO in June 2015. It ran for a total of five seasons, ending its run in October 2019. Created by Stephen Levinson, the sports drama series follows a retired football superstar named Spencer Strasmore, who must navigate his new job as a financial manager to current players in the football league.
Dwayne Johnson stars as the protagonist, Spencer Strasmore. Rob Corddry, John David Washington, Omar Miller, Donovan W. Carter, Troy Garity, London Brown, Jazmyn Simon, Arielle Kebbel, and many others are also in the cast.
If you’re wondering how Ballers is coming to Netflix, it’s because Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix have a deal where WBD licenses HBO titles to Netflix. Insecure was the first HBO show part of the deal to land on the streaming platform, and now Ballers is up next. Other HBO shows confirmed to be coming to Netflix are Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Six Feet Under. However, these HBO titles do not have Netflix release dates yet. So, when will Ballers make its way to Netflix? Find out below.
When is Ballers coming to Netflix?
According to What’s on Netflix, all five seasons of the sports drama series are coming to Netflix on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023. However, it’s important we mention that Netflix hasn’t confirmed this date. This means Ballers may not actually drop on the streamer on this date. In fact, Netflix hasn’t even announced the release date yet, nor how many seasons of the show will be added. Once the streaming giant releases its full list of new releases for August 2023, we’ll know for sure if Ballers is coming in August.
In the meantime, be sure to check out Insecure seasons 1-5 on Netflix.
