Quarterback cast: What football players appear in the Netflix docuseries?

While the National Football League (NFL) is very big and some of its key players have a huge following, the professional league doesn’t easily give access to its players. But thanks to a new Netflix docuseries, Quarterback, we’ll get to see just that on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

The eight-episode documentary focuses on three players who hold the titular title. The NFL has allowed them to be “mic’d up” for every game in the 2022 U.S. football season so viewers at home can get a closer look at what’s happening on the field, as well as in their personal lives, per the synopsis.

The show chronicles the lives of Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota on and off the field. Fans will be able to see many key moments in their professional and personal lives. Read on below for more information about each quarterback.

Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, selected by the team in the 2017 NFL Draft. The 27-year-old is the son of Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes. And while he tried baseball for a while, football was his true calling. He’s considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. In March 2022, Mahomes married his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews. The two have a daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes, and a son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavone Mahomes III.

Kirk Cousins

Thirty-four-year-old Cousins is a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, joining the team in March 2018. Currently, he ranks sixth all-time in competition percentage and is No. 8 in the league’s all-time regular season career passer rating. In June 2014, Cousins married his wife Julie Hampton and the couple shares two sons, Cooper and Turner.

Marcus Mariota

Mariota is currently a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, having signed on for a one-year, $5 million deal in March 2023. The 29-year-old was with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Eagles. He’s the first quarterback in NFL history to throw four touchdown passes in the first half of his NFL debut, per the NFL website. Mariota married his college sweetheart in July 2021 and the couple welcomed a baby boy in December 2022.
