The final seven episodes of Firefly Lane season 2 — and the final of the series, period — arrived in April 2023 and packed a punch. Kate and Tully continued their complicated journey through best friendship during the most challenging time of their lives. Firefly Lane season 2 part 2 also answered a few romantic questions, too, including who’s getting married.

From the promotional pictures and synopsis alone, the final episodes sounded like a pack of tissues per episode kind of binge-watch, but anyone who watched that heartbreaking season 2 part 1 finale knew that we’d all be reduced to blubbering messes in part 2.

Speaking of that heartbreaking part 1 finale, Kate and Tully’s friendship breakup came to a dramatic head and saw them leading separate lives for the first time in their adult lives. As they each embarked on their own futures, with Tully taking on an exciting career opportunity and Kate receiving bad health news, they pass like ships in the night.

How did they recover from their missed connection in the part 1 finale? Did they finally meet and bury the hatchet in this important time of their lives? Obviously, there’s no Kate without Tully and no Tully without Kate, and we ugly cried at every bittersweet moment.
