Netflix shows canceled: No Good Nick
- Created By: David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan
- Starring: Siena Agudong, Lauren Lindsey Donzis, Kalama Epstein, Sean Astin, Melissa Joan Hart
Listen, there are plenty of other shows that Netflix canceled after one season. From reality shows that bit the dust on arrival to comedies and dramas that made no impact, some of your underrated favorites are probably peppered in the one-and-done canon. And there are plenty more to come. But isn’t it crazy that ’90s sitcom darling Melissa Joan Hart starred in a Netflix family comedy that was canceled after one season?
No Good Nick centers on 13-year-old “orphaned” con artist Nicole “Nick” Franzelli (Siena Agudong), who shows up on the Thompson family’s front doorstep as Nicole Patterson. She claims they are her closest next of kin and must live with them, but that’s only part of her plan to infiltrate their lives and get revenge on them for her father.
The sitcom first premiered on Netflix in April 2019 and aired two 10-episode parts that make up a single season. No Good Nick struggled to find its footing in the family-centric sector of Netflix, a part of the streaming service that isn’t particularly known for mainstream crossover binges (unless you’re Fuller House). Without such a limiting premise and an unclear demographic, maybe the sitcom would have been able to give the erstwhile Sabrina Spellman another big hit.
