Netflix Black Knight cast: Meet the stars of the South Korean thriller

Black Knight is a South Korean Netflix original created by Cho Ui-seok, Shin Yeon-ju, and Kim Hyun-deok. It’s adapted from the acclaimed webtoon Delivery Knight by Lee Yoon-gyun and tells the story of the black knights.

It’s set in a dystopian Korea where severe air pollution has made it uninhabitable to live without an oxygen mask. Only 1% of the population remains and they must depend on an elite team of deliverymen called the black knights to provide them with oxygen and other necessities. The show follows 5-8, the most admired deliveryman, Sa-wol, a refugee, and Seol-ah, a major of the DIC, as they work to take down the all-powerful Cheonmyeong Group, the de facto ruler of this new world.

Kim Woo-bin as 5-8

5-8 was a refugee before he became a black knight, so he knows how it feels to be without the necessities. He’s strongly against Ryu Seok’s plan to rid the world of all refugees, so he’s on a mission to put a stop to him.

Kang Yoo-seok as Sa-wol

Sa-wol has always dreamed of becoming a black knight, and after encountering 5-8, his dream might just come true. He also has a close relationship with Seol-ah and Seul-ah.

Esom as Seol-ah

Seol-ah is a major at the Defense Intelligence Command. She knows Cheonmyeong Group is hiding some dirty secrets, and she’s on a mission to uncover them. It would only make sense for her to join forces with 5-8 even though they have different ways of doing things. She’s also the older sister of Seul-ah.

Song Seung-heon as Ryu Seok
