Mulligan voice cast and character guide: Who voices the characters on the show?

Another adult animated series is out now on Netflix! Mulligan is the latest offering from the streaming service, and this show comes from the team that brought us Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Mulligan takes place on Earth after an alien invasion that decimates the human population. With a limited amount of people left behind, the small civilization must figure out how to rebuild their society and decide whether to try something new or repeat the same mistakes of the past.

Nat Faxon as Matty Mulligan

Matty is the unlikely hero who saved Earth from an alien invasion and has now become the leader of the remaining survivor. A working-class guy from Boston, all Matty wants is to get everyone to like him and win Lucy’s affection.

You might recognize Nat Faxon’s voice from Disenchantment, where he voiced Elfo. The 47-year-old actor is starring in the Apple TV+ series Loot as Arthur. He previously won an Academy Award for co-writing the 2011 movie The Descendants starring George Clooney.

Chrissy Teigen as Lucy Suwan

Chrissy Teigen is a notable television personality and model with a massive social media following. She’s better known for her entrepreneurial pursuits like her brand deals, hosting duties, cooking (she has a cookbook!), and posting updates of her beautiful family with singer John Legend.

Teigen has dabbled in a few projects on television, most notably with her unscripted series Chrissy’s Court. Mulligan marks one of her biggest scripted roles to date, though she has voiced characters in The Mitchells vs. the Machines, The Simpsons, and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. On Mulligan, she voices former beauty-queen-turned-First-Lady Lucy Suwan.

Tina Fey as Dr. Farrah Braun

Most Netflix viewers are well aware of Tina Fey as the comedy legend is an Emmy-winning actress with a long history of acclaimed television and film roles under her belt. Fey is voicing super-scientist Dr. Farrah Braun, one of the most intelligent survivors left behind in the wake of the alien invasion.

In 2022, Fey recurred on Hulu’s hit show Only Murders in the Building, and she has several big movies coming up, including reprising her role as Ms. Norbury in the film version of Mean Girls: The Musical. The Saturday Night Live alum also worked as an executive producer on Mulligan.

Sam Richardson as Simon Prioleau

Simon Prioleau is the only remaining historian. He hopes to use this strange new opportunity to reinvent himself as a “cool” guy, but it might be challenging when Matty still thinks of him as a nerd. Simon is voiced by The Afterparty star Sam Richardson.

Richardson has been busy in recent years after his breakout role playing Richard Splett in Veep. He voices Shaggy in the HBO Max series Velma and characters in the upcoming Grimsburg and Clone High. His previous credits include Harley Quinn, Ted Lasso, HouseBroken, Star Trek: Lower Decks, We’re the Millers, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

Dana Carvey as Senator Cartwright LaMarr

Dana Carvey is another Saturday Night Live alum in the voice cast, and he plays the self-appointed Vice President, LaMarr. LaMarr is constantly scheming to rebuild their society exactly the way it was before the alien invasion. Besides SNL, the Emmy-nominated actor is probably best known for starring opposite Mike Myers in the Wayne’s World movies and the 2002 film The Master of Disguise. 

Phil LaMarr as Axatrax

At the end of the invasion, Axatrax is the last remaining survivor of his alien group and becomes a prisoner to the humans who defeated him. A general on his home planet, Axatrax might just be biding his time to start a second invasion. Mad TV star Phil LaMarr voices Axatrax.

LaMarr also voiced multiple characters on the long-running Futurama and Samurai Jack. LaMarr has a legendary voice acting career, including projects like Family Guy, The Magician’s Elephant, Dragon Age: Absolution, Central Park, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and more.

Recurring guest stars on Mulligan

In addition to the main cast members, Mulligan features a very talented ensemble of recurring guest stars, including Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. Radcliffe has done quite a bit of comedy in recent years, so it’s fun to see him continuing that with projects like Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and Miracle Workers, and now he’s voicing the English lord Jeremy in Mulligan.

You might also recognize The Bear actress Ayo Edebiri, who voices a teenager who steals a general’s uniform to become “General Scarpaccio.”
