Mulligan season 2: Will there be another season on Netflix?

If you’re a fan of adult animated comedies on Netflix, there’s a new one for you to add to your watch list. Mulligan premiered on May 12, and after finishing all 10 episodes of the funny new series, you’re going to be wondering whether there’s going to be a Mulligan season 2.

The series comes from 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt masterminds Robert Carlock and Tina Fey and centers on a group of survivors who come together to rebuild society after an alien attack destroys Earth as we know it. Nat Faxon, Chrissy Teigen, Tina Fey, Sam Richardson, Dana Carvey, and Phil LaMarr lend their voices to the series.

Can fans of the comedy expect another season to pick up where the debut season left off? Without giving away any spoilers, here’s what we know so far about the show’s fate!

Will there be a Mulligan season 2 on Netflix?

As of the series’ release on May 12, Netflix has not renewed or canceled Mulligan. There’s still a chance Netflix could share word on its fate ahead of the usual one-month timeframe, especially given that episode 10 ends by saying “to be continued.”

Mulligan season 2 could be the “to be continued” hinted at the end of season 1, or Netflix could also surprise viewers with a 20-episode order like it has in the past with other animated series. That would mean the second half of the season could premiere later this year or next. But that’s merely speculation based on Netflix’s history with animated comedies.

Otherwise, Netflix will take a look at the viewership for the series along with its completion rate during the first 28 days of its release before announcing a renewal or cancellation. The bar for renewal is typically lower for animate series, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens, since there’s also the matter of the writers’ strike still standing in the way.
