Netflix released a brand-new adult animated series Mulligan on May 12, and it’s sure to be another fan favorite in the same vein as Big Mouth, Human Resources, and more of the streamer’s biggest animated hits.

The series comes from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, among other talented executive producers and features the voices of Nat Faxon, Chrissy Teigen, Tina Fey, Sam Richardson, Dana Carvey, Phil LaMarr, Daniel Radcliffe, Ayo Edebiri, Ronny Chieng, and Kevin Michael Richardson.

After season 1 episode 10 promises fans that the story is “to be continued,” the screen offers the message, “In memory of Mike Camarillo and Jonathan Finn-Gamiño.” For those who might not know these names, here’s the Mulligan dedication explanation.

Who is Mike Camarillo in the Mulligan dedication?

The first name in the season-ending dedication belongs to Mike Camarillo, an animator who passed away suddenly at age 57 on Christmas Day 2021. He was believed to have passed of an undiagnosed heart condition. He was survived by his wife and two children.

Camarillo worked on visual effects for such animated movies as The Swan Princess, The Road to El Dorado, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, and The Powerpuff Girls Movie. He also worked on such series as The Simpsons, Rugrats, and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.

It’s unclear if he was involved early on in production to work on Mulligan or if the late animator was friends with those who did work on the Netflix series.

Who is Jonathan Finn-Gamiño in the Mulligan dedication?

The second person named in Mulligan’s season-ending dedication is Illustrator, character designer, and storyboard artist Jonathan Finn-Gamiño. He passed away in January 2022 at the age of 32 and worked on such series as American Dad!, The Jim Jeffries Show, and Netflix’s Big Mouth.

Like Mike Camarillo, it’s unclear if Jonathan Finn-Gamiño had been involved at all in the creation of Mulligan or if he was close with those who animated the Netflix series.
